Haven't been doing much copying lately so haven't been here. I just found out that I have to upgrade from DVD Fab Express to Fab Gold for free so I'll do that soon.

The three issues I remember from my last attempts at copying were:

When copying the whole disc (on to a SL blank) the chapter locations didn't carry over, but that was no big deal. They were ok on Movie Only though.

Secondly, On Movie Only the subtitles always appeared automatically on playback (set top machine) and I always had to turn them off before watching anything. Again no big deal but it's hard to know which type of subtitle to select. One has to be selected to come in only when needed like the Star Wars cantina scene etc. If when copying you deselect all of them you will lose these as well.

Lastly, when I tried to do and uncompressed 1:1 onto a dual layer blank, there was freezing and stuttering for about a minute either side of the layer break point.
I ended up getting Any DVD and Clone CD which doesn't suffer from this - just for the long 180min+ films as compressing them to a SL results in a breathing or pulsing effect.

Anyone know of any improvements on these matters while I was away?

I have not experienced any of those problems, but I have been using Platinum. Even the betas did a good job and there were 10 before the first final. I have been using complete disc to TY-R 4X dvd blanks. There are some new betas out so why not see for yourself.

You should check the subtitle options of your standalone.

You should try DVDFab 3 to see the result.

1) Chapter mislocation problem in DVDFab 2 is completely fixed.

2) For Main Movie and Customize, you can set default audio/subpicture for every title. Just click the first empty column of Audio/Subpicture, and you will see a green arrow, and it's set.

By default, only first audio is selected, and subpicture is not selected.

In the future versions, we will provide more control on Audio/Subpicture selection.
