ISO rip on HDD | Using DVDFabPlatinum to burn | Does not seem to work

I have a number of rips (DVD film backups) on my HDD in form of ISO files.

This is the first time I am actually trying to burn these ISO files to a DVD using DVDFab Platinum.

I tried doing a 'write data' mode burn. But this DVD will not play in my dvd player.

Is there any setup I need to do in order to have each burn to be successful.

Welcome to CD Freaks

I've moved your query to the DVD Fab section, where you'll probably get more specific help.

I'd try "Main Movie" opening one of the ISO's for a start.

If that works, then progress to "Full Disk" mode.

If you already have ripped files in the form of .ISO, you cannot beat ImgBurn for burning them to DVD.

@ imkidd57:
Thank you for moving to a better section. Seems to have worked.

@ GregiBoy:
Thank you for your response.

The .ISO file is only the Main Movie. So in DVD Fab I have:

Source: F:\video\ISO\[filmname].ISO
Target: D:\[Optiarc DVD+-RW AD-5560A DD11 (Idle)]

Under that in the box labelled |Copying| should I check or uncheck the box:

[ ] Copy DVD-Video (Video_TS folder)

@VideoRoy:
Thanks for the tip. I will check ImgBurn out.
But it only adds another piece of software to learn!! But will try it though.

Thanks Troy. I already had a quick look at them earlier. Will take a 'slower' look. From what I saw, your videos are helpful.

Just did a burn with Imgburn. Worked a treat. I've created two coasters already trying to get it right with DVDFab. I will get it right eventually with CDFreaks' help. But Imgburn saved me from making one more coasters.

It did take twice the time than it should have, since I also clicked the [ ] Verify box. Now I know!

Thanks again!

Re: ISO rip on HDD | Using DVDFabPlatinum to burn | Does not seem to work

I like to:

Quote:
1. Copy 'main movie' to ISO and store on my external hard drive
2. Use this ISO to convert to mp4 to make the rip playable on my smartphone.
3. Use the ISO file to then, burn on a DVD to watch via a DVD player or the kids can watch on the in-car DVD players.

Would the following workflow work:

Quote:
ISO to MP4
1. Insert source DVD (eg: Batman Begins!)
2. Open DVD Fab
3. Rip to ISO file

4. Open DVDFab
5. Source: Batman Begins.ISO
6. Convert to iPod mp4 format.
7. save to folder to move later to smartphone
Quote:
ISO to Burn DVD
1. Insert source DVD (eg: Batman Begins!)
2. Open DVD Fab
3. Rip to ISO file

4. Open up ImgBurn
5. Source: Batman Begins.ISO
6. Click 'write'.

At any stage above, do I still need DVDShrink or DVD Decryptor?

Re: ISO rip on HDD | Using DVDFabPlatinum to burn | Does not seem to work

if you are using dvdfab platinum, NO. you only need dvdfab and imgburn.

in settings uncheck 'Delete temporary files when done' and 'Create Files in subfolders of Output Directory'. then do a main movie backup of Batman, burning to dvd. your Batman is still saved on hard drive. (although is in video_ts folder and not ISO file). i do this to save steps. this way you can make a backup and still save the files in one process.

Great help, Thanks!!

One more question, if I may!

Burning from VIDEO_TS folders using Imgburn
I read up on that and seems to be easy.
I wanted to know if there any specific settings I should pay attention to before doing a burn from VIDEO_TS to DVD.

Thanks.

Glad to see it is working for you. To be fair you should post the ImgBurn questions in that forum. It is forum 153 and I listed the link above.
