I'd like to know how I can finanize a DVD that went through the Clone process with no errors but won't play on TV. It is burned and will play on PC. Others I've done (not from same source disc) have worked fine but this source disc has been tried twice with the same results. The source DVD plays fine on TV.
I'm fairly new to DVDFab but have been making back ups with out much problem. Most source DVDs are recorded from TV on Toshiba DVR and then I've cloned them with DVDFab. I have the latest version 4.0.5.5.

Anyway it seems I just need to run through the finalization process again but can't figure out how to do it.

To do this within fab...Open DVDFab Properties>Open find Target under the Shortcut Tab>Open PC Setup Patin-coffin drivers VSO Software>Open Patin Coffin> Highlight the drive you are using>R click and chooce Unfreeze/Finalize media. This does not always work..

Thanks for the quick reply HDFATBOYDOC. Like you said it does not always work and it didn't for me.
All I got was a message saying "Your Drive seems to be reactive now" with and OK button. When I try again - same result. BTW I'm using Vista as my OS.
I guess I've got a couple coasters. I wound up redubbing to my DVR machine and making a copy from it.
How common is it to have DVDFab fail to finalize? I hope I didn't buy something that won't work all the time.

Failing to finalize can sometime be the burner and not the program. Its not common at all for DVD Fab Vso burning Engine to fail to finalize a disc. Its very rare.

What version of Vista are you running
I am running Vista myself started with Vista Home but had issues that I was unable to resolve because I was not able to make the changes needed had to upgrade to Ultimate even then had to enable the Administrator account ( it was disabled thanks to HP )

I have Ultimate also. It is an older 2.0 Ghz Dell and an aftermarket burner and only 512 memory. I seem to be OK with the burning but maybe could do some adjusting in the DVDFab settings to compensate for machine limitations.

I think you would just need to add more RAM, since your running Ultimate Vista you should see about adding 2GB if your MOBO will handle it. You and your machine will be glad you did!

only 512 memory you really need to add more Ram running Vista Ultimate you should have NO LESS then 2Gigs like the C said
if you read the spec's for Vista you will see this info, I myself am running 4Gig's of Ram I would go with 8 Gig's but I have a 32 bit system not 64 bit

Anyway, the above procedure using PcSetup.exe (VSO Software's Patin-Couffin drivers tool) has never worked for me.

What I do to finalise the discs is use ImgBurn. In case you don't already have it installed, it can be downloaded from http://www.imgburn.com/ (it's free).

Open ImgBurn (an unfinalised disc will be shown as "Incomplete"), and in the "Tools" menu, choose "Drive", then "Close", and then "Track". Wait for all drive activity to finish, and then again in the "Tools" menu, choose "Drive", then "Close", and then "Disc". Wait for all drive activity to finish, and then in the "View" menu, choose "Refresh" and verify that the disc is now shown as "Complete".
