first off let me say ive been using dvdfab for forever and have had 0 problems well yesterday i bought a external dvd burner and everytime i try to load dvdfab it just freezes on me and does nothing i cant search for the dvd media or anything ive let it sit for 10 min before and nothing . Soon as i turn off my external burner bam everything unlocks and works normal.

The external drive works fine for everything else i dont understand why dvdfab is causing a problem can someone PLEASE HELP ME

Does the external show up normally in My Computer? If you put a DVD in it, will WIndows let you Explore the disc and look in the VIDEO_TS folder? What is your OS? Are your USB ports 2.0? Many users (including me) use an external with no problems.

Hi I am new to this site ... and can't answer you're question, but wanted to post a new thread. I need to know how to burn Movie Videos (AVI) clips to disc to play in dvd player. I have Nero 8 and later.... this is upsetting because I keep damaging my blank disc.... Can someone recommend what I should use or what I should do.... Thanks... Help.

yes my drives shows up in windows explorer and i can explore the disc just fine im using win xp prof. sp2 and using usb 2.0 ports on both computers. I just tried anydvd as well and that freezes too it must be this drive or something i have no clue its a i/o magic 18x external dvd burner. upon further research the drive being used by io magic is a samsung SH-S202N

so you can play & watch the origianl DVD ok when it's in your new external drive, but you can't use either anydvd or dvdfab ?
it's not that you have both of those running together & they are conflicting ?

IF you launch DVDfab before inserting any discs into any drives, then does it freeze before you insert a blank dvd into the external writer, or only after you insert one.
