Re: For Help

Please ignore my previous post, since I have solved the problem - in a sense. After messing through the first few gibberish screens and reaching the main program, then I can switch the language to chinese.

Re: For Help

Having a problem with the new version 3.2.1.0. When I use a DVD file folder as a "source" on the DVDFab screen, the program shuts down. I have tried various diffierent DVD file folders. I am trying to burn the file to dvd.
In past versions of DVDFab this did not happen. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Re: For Help

To add some more information to my post just above this one, I reverted back to an older version of DVDfab (3.1.7.0) and tried to use the same DVD file as the "source" and it worked fine. How do I fix the glitch in the newer version?
Thanks

Re: For Help

The developers will fix it if they can duplicate the problem. It may already have been fixed in the beta release (4.0.0.0). In version 3.2.1.0 or 4.0.0.0, try disabling PathPlayer and disabling the read ahead cache. These controls are in Comnmon Settings.

Re: For Help

As a continuation from the few posts above....
I downloaded DVDFab 4.0.0.5 beta and disabled the pathplayer. Then tried to load a dvd file as my source and everything worked fine.
Thanks

Re: For Help

OS: Vista Ultimate x64

DVDFab trial works great but I used the license key and now it crashs and won't start. In fact after I used the click and click Okay to close the "Registered" window it crashs.

I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, even picked through and cleaned the registry of DVDfab traces after uninstalling. Still a no go with reinstall.

The program works fine until the key is applied and the key crashs as well. Tried look through the forum but nothing turned up that was applicable to this problem at least in the search.

Any solutions would be most appreciated. ASAP.

Thanks.

Re: For Help

Hi Tannicus
When I installed on Vista64 I put the key file on my desktop and double clicked it, worked fine (was an earlier version). Disable any firewall/AV etc.

Start DVDFab with no recorded discs in the optical drive(s). Click on the little folder icon in the Source area near the top of the window on the right. This will bring up a box that will let you choose the drive and folder where the movie is stored. Keep going until you see a folder marked VIDEO_TS, then click on it and click the OK button. If it is fully compressed and needs no more processing, you can use Write Data mode and burn it directly to a blank disc.

DVDFab HD Decrypter 4.0.6.2 (Feb 7, 2008) won't start

I have been using the DVDFab HD Decrypter and when I installed the 4.0.6.2 (Feb 7, 2008) update, it no longer opens, I double click the icon and the I see the hourglass for a few seconds and then "nothing".

I tried to uninstall, cleaned registry, and rebooted then reinstalled... still same problem... now even older versions install but do not open...

any advice anyone?....

thanks...

Re: For Help

Can I use dvdfab to copy files to my computer so they will be a playable file? like not a dvd image file (ISO etc.), I don't know all the proper names for this stuff so you'll kinda hafta bare with me here.
Basically what I want to do is get the video files onto my computer in a format compatible with a dvd editing program, so i can fiddle around with the videos, like make a music video or something(for personal use only of course) I need to know if dvdfab wil do this, and if not, what program will?
Thanks!!

If the files you want to copy are unencrypted DVD files, you can copy them with windows explorer. DVDFab will copy any DVD files to your HDD by choosing the "folder" icon on the Target area. This will open a box that will let you tell DVDFab where to put the files. They will be in DVD format (VIDEO_TS folder, containing IFO, BUP and VOB files). It will also produce AVI, MP4 and other files types if that is what you editing program requires.

Re: For Help

Hey Signals!
Long time no see like I said, I'm pretty illiterate about this stuff so...How do I know if the file is encrypted or not? And how do I get it(platinum4) to produce to an AVI etc.? I can't find anything like that.

Re: For Help

I looked at the dvd to generic/mobile guide and it showed a configure window where you could select what type of output you would like, but my dvdfab program doesn't give that option. I'm using DVDFab Platinum 4 Trial version. Is not working because it's a trial version, or am I just missing something?

Re: For Help

Hi Tex. The configure page is accessed by clicking on the Configure button, which shows up after you click Next at the bottom of the 1st DVD to Mobile page. The Configure button is on the right side of the window, near the bottom. There are no limitations on the trial version (unless something has changed).

Re: For Help

In the "merge 2 " window what does the "remove title" do? I couldn't find an explanation in the tutorial.

Re: For Help

The Remove Title button deletes the selected (highlighted) title from the Merge list.

Re: For Help

Hi All
I went to make a backup copy of my grandsons dragon Tails dvd. It coppied to my hard drive just fine. About 13 min for 3.56 gigs for full disc but when I went to burn it to a DVD it took about 1hr 20 min. At first I thought it was a bad dvd or a prob with my dvd burner. Prob. was resolved by resetting the DMA in the general tab of the common settings. Burned it again and it took 13 min. Although the check for DMA automatically is checked in the common settings/ general tab it never popped up to ask me to reset it.
Thanks for putting that feature in. I'm not sure why It changed on me but that sure fixed the prob.
This is one of the best and easiest software programs I ever bought.
Thank You
