Good idea, Ron. Costs only a little more than the price of the software. I think that was the bargainmaster, the champ of cheap, bigmacnc that found that unit. If I can find the thread I'll link it here for dwb9029.

Re: For Help

My problem has been resolved. I have abandoned Region+CSS Free and I am now using DVD Ghost. It was the same price and had the ability for purchase. It had the same functions and support appears to be active. Thank you for your attention.

Re: For Help

Hi there, I am still trying this software. I tried the more expensive version and now I am trying the DVDFab/Gold. My questions are many. I just tried to burn a dvd from the folder that is created but that doesn't appear to work. I set the source to the temp folder and the target to the dv burner but when I click on start, it says the temp folder already exists and do I want to overwrite it. What am I doing wrong?

Also, why would anyone pay for software that doesn't have a help system or a support system. I'm sorry, but trying to find an answer in this forum (which has no search feature) is not what one should get when they pay $40 to $70 for a program. The company won't even answer email questions. There are a lot of you using this program so I'm figuring it must be pretty good and I am just too old or stupid to be using it.

Hope someone can help me with the software and the forum.

Hi LiMillr, the forum has a fast and versatile search function. Just click on the "Search This Forum" button on the right hand side of the screen, near the top of the forum home page. If you select advanced search it will allow you to search by user, keyword and a range of date options. As to the other problem, normally you would never set the temp folder as the source (at least not the temp folder that DVDFab creates) since the files it contains are deleted (with default settings) when the project is complete and you click on "Finish". As to the price and support, one competing product that sells "modules" for many of the features in DVDFab charges over US$200 for equivalent functionality. The forum is a great place for support with many helpful fellow users. On the forum, there is a Features Summary and a short Tutorial on the new Merge mode and more support documents will be appearing before too long.

Re: For Help

Hi LiMillr, We buy it because it works and is simple to use. If you notice we are at Version 3.0.8.0 and 3.0.1.0 was the first final version released 9/18/2006 after many beta versions. There have also been many beta versions released since then too as well as final versions. Fengtao has also had to fight to keep this Version available because there are many who won't it out of circulation because it is so powerful. I you go to the purchase page and click on More Info, you will find a short set of instructions with screen shots. We all hope the will be a more in depth tutorial soon, but fengtao and company have been busy updating & fixing problems. This section of CDFreaks is were we help each other. You will get help if you post a new thread with technical problems with details as suggested on a either page 1 or 2 of this thread by maineman. We cannot help with ordering problems other than suggestions.

When you click on the little cog icon a little drop down pops open that says common settings put your mouse over it to highlight it and click on it, that will open common settings

Re: For Help

I recently purchased DVDFAB Platinum. I cannot find how to set the dvd burner speed on it. I contacted support but all they said was that it is under "Write". I am usaually pretty good at running these applications but this one has me stumped. Can anyone help me reset the burn speed?

DVDFab iPod converter problem...

Hi, I've just downloaded the latest trial version, 3.0.8.6, and tried to convert Pink Floyd's PULSE Disc 1 for my Video iPod.

The conversion process started okay... but wouldn't stop!

It should have been a 40 minute or so job, but 80 minutes later the software was still running, even though it had told me the job was 100% completed by about the 40 minute mark.

I had to cancel the process to stop the software, and that just caused the program to hang, I had to ctrl/alt/delete to get out of it.

The target folder and mpg4 file has been created, but when I try to play the file with Quicktime - I have the latest version - on my PC, I get an "Error-2048, the file is not a movie file" message.

I tried to import the file into iTunes to see if that would make a difference, but it won't import.

Needless to say I'm not too impressed, I've heard a lot of positive stuff about DVDFab but this doesn't look good.

Can anyone help?

Thanks
Paul

Re: For Help

I'm having difficulties backing up certain DVD's using DVDFab Platinum. The backups are unplayable and there appears to be too many VTS files (VOB, BUP, IFO). When the problem occurs there are about 99 sets of these files generated. A good backup has alot less files. Please advise. Thanks!

Hi chamoru_in_cali
The DVD's that you are having trouble with have a new CopyRight Protection as found on Saw 3 and others, DVDFab Platinum has been updated to handle this.
Not sure what version you have because you really have not given much info BUT if you don't have DVDFab Platinum 3.0.8.6 download it and see if this takes care of your issue

Hello... I just purchased DVDFab Platinum and when I downloaded it... it comes up with foreign instead of English so I cant even understand what it says. Can anyone tell me how I can go in and change it to english??? When I set it up.. I selected English so I dont understand why it did that. I uninstalled and reinstalled about 5 times to see if it made a difference but it didnt.
I would greatly appreciate any help you guys could give me!

If you are ripping to your HDD first then it will say 100% because you have more then enough space needed, and when you go to burn to a disc then the space you have is not enough unless you use a DL
