| Re: Harry Potter,Bourne Ultimatum There is no question CC, I think he is just saying that he successfully backed up these movies with DVD Fab.

| Re: Harry Potter,Bourne Ultimatum Ok, here is the solution I used to work out this Bourne Ultimatum problem. I have an ASUS dvd rom and when I used it to read the DVD it didn't work. I got read errors just like you the ones who are having problems. So I then used my Pioneer burner to read the DVD and Voila it worked like a charm without having to change any settings. Just keep Pathplayer on when you go to read the DVD. Solution, if it doesn't want to read for you then I suggest you use a different drive to read the DVD for you. Not all readers are capable of handled certain info within the DVD's. I hope this helps you. Take care. P.S. Use the DVDFab Platinum. It works great. |

You have some other issue(s) at play here. Are you able to play the movie from your hdd? It sounds as though you're able to rip the movie ok, but it's unclear. Post some specifics (ie., Fab config settings, burner, firmware, MID, etc.) and we'll be happy to try and help. Posting a burn log would be a great help. The default location is: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log

| Re: Harry Potter,Bourne Ultimatum I Meant All The Hype From My Buddies. Sorry About That, I WILL DO THAT WHEN I GET HOME FROM WORK. WHY IS IT THAT IN ORDER TO BACKUP MOST MOVIES USING ( DVD-9 AT 100 % QUALITY IT ASKS FOR A DUAL LAYER DVD BUT IF YOU USE (DVD-5 ) SOMETIMES THE QUALITY COULD BE AS LOW AS 53 % ? I AM NEW TO THIS STUFF BUT DOES IT MEAN IF U WANT 100% QUALITY VIDEO YOU NEED TO SPEND THEMONEY AND BUY DUAL LAYER DVDS? THATS GETS EXPENSIVE. ARE YOU GUYS CHANGING ANY SETTINGS WHEN BACKING UP THESE MOVIES? IF SO PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME WITH YOUR KNOWLEDGE. I PLAN ON BUYING THIS SOFTWARE BUT IT SEEMS TO HAVE SOME GLITCHES OR MAYBE ITS JUST ME. THANX IN ADVANCE FOR ANY INPUT... ![]() Last edited by whuzurdaddy; 12-12-2007 at 15:47. |

| Re: Harry Potter,Bourne Ultimatum I'm not sure what you're asking exactly, but maybe this will help. Disregard clone mode for this dicusiion since it will not apply compression and will reproduce a bit for bit copy....minus the copy protection. There are 2 target sizes, dvd5 and dvd9. These will determine how much, if any compression is applied, based on the original file size A few examples should help. Bourne Ultimatum: Full disc to a dvd5 (target size set by me = 4460MB) Original file size = 7975 MB Platinum will compress to a file size = 4460 MB (my setting). Quality : 55%. This indicates that the original file is being compressed to approximately 55% of its original size...or the ratio 4460/7975 (55.9%). Main movie to a dvd5 Original file size = 4804 MB Platinum will compress to a file size = 4460 MB Quality: 92% or 4460/4804 Full disc to a dvd9 (target size = 8152 MB) Original file size = 7975 MB Here the target size is 8152 MB, but we only need 7975 MB of free disc space, so the resultant Quality = 100% or no compression

| Re: Harry Potter,Bourne Ultimatum thanx a ton big guy. I thought the 55.9 % meant the quality of the picture. It actually means how much is actually being compressed... That helps alot. I just need to learn this new software . I take it that I should leave it on DVD-5 when backing up movies? I may be wrong but dvd-9 set-up kept telling me to use a dual layered disc.. Thanx grasshopper.. ![]() |
