Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet but, on DVDFab Decrypter,to be able to adjust the speed of the write from max. to 4x,8x or whatever like on Platinum would really be great. Also just wanted to say how much I appreciate everyone involved with DVDFab products. Thank you.

That would be quite impossible as the Free version of DVD Fab Decrypter does not write. It just decrypts to your Hard Drive.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

DVDFab Decryper can make ISO for Full Disc and Main Movie, but it hasn't Clone feature to make 1:1 ISO, also it cannot write the ISO to DVDR.

What is the difference between a Full Disk ISO VS Clone ISO?

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Clone will create ISO from DVD disc directly, in 1:1 mode.

Full Disc will create DVD Folder at first, then convert it to ISO.

How to prepare MPEG-2 video files for transfer to a TiVo DVR using tivo desktop 2.2 or later:

Use a standard personal editing tool such as Sonic MyDVD, Adobe Premiere, or Nero to prepare a final cut of your video
Use the export/save as feature and choose MPEG-2 format. This is the standard format used by DVD players
Find the MPEG-2 encoding options and set them to the following parameters to ensure proper transfer and playback on TiVo DVRs:

Resolution 720 x 480, 704 x 480 (D1), 544 x 480 (3/4 D1), 480 x 480 (2/3 D1), and 352 x 480 (1/2 D1). The higher the resolution, the better the video quality and the larger the resulting file, which means longer transfer time and more disk usage on your PC and DVR.
Bit Rate 1 – 8 Mbps. The higher the bit rate, the better the video quality and the larger the resulting file. 4 Mbps is recommended for high-quality video.
Frame Rate 29.97 (standard NTSC). Do not try any different frame rates.
Aspect Ratio 4:3 (recommended) or 16:9
Audio MPEG-1 Layer 2 for TiVo DVRs without DVD; AC/3 (Dolby) for TiVo DVRs with DVD.

... Still wondering if anyone has sugestions? I see the ipod, psp and generic support in the new DVD FAB... Any way to get DVD FAB to correctly build a mpg file with the above noted specs that can be transferred to and played on a TIVO?

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Hi Fengtao

Here is something you might think about adding a feature to copy HD DVD's
you may want to read this thread from DOOM9

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=922089

You can get the source code from a link in the thread I THINK

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

That news is already drawing attention to hollywood, and posted on Betanews.com, hopefully it's not illegal in the end, but currently debatible by many. I thanked the author myself in those forums before all the current attention is now getting.

Now, a few things i would love to see added as a future update,

1)Being able to easily edit profiles. (Instead of the 3, xvid-full audio,xvid-mp3 audio,mp4-ac3), one could fully customize it to use say mp4 video with full audio, as mp4 audio profile doesn't seem to keep the 5.1 audio channels. Also profile's once selected, would audio bring up custom settings (2-Pass, Filesize, quality, etc.) are all retained with that profile. I know some of this might be already possible, but experience is needed to edit the file, but it would be easier for users to have this build in.

2) Be able to transcode multiple selected files (Like how you have the option of making a custom backup DVD (Selecting multiple 'Titles') when using 'DVD to Mobile' function. (IE- Being able to select Title 1-'Movie' and Title 5-'Bloopers'/etc.) then hit Next to start encoding the multiple files. Currently you have to select the one file, transcode, then finish, then go back in and select another, do it again. PAIN in arse.

Thanks if any can be added. I think the 2nd one is the most important one IMO, but either one would benefit a lot of users out there. Prec'

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Would it be possible to add a 112 kbps audio bitrate when ripping to generic? It jumps from 96 up to 128. A 112 would be very handy!

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Hope I'm not asking a question that has been ask many times before...

Being very new to the DVD burning thing I have a question.
I received a new PC for Xmas, and my son hooked me up with DVDFab decrypter. My burner software is Sonic Digital Media Plus V7. I have downloaded a movie and have it stored on my PC in MY Documents. Any tips on how I can use my Sonic software to burn the movie. Should be a course on this stuff...lol

ps: not really sure where in this forum I should post a question like this. thks.

Knowing that this is related to DVD, how about a capability to convert VCD movies on iPOD and able to convert PC games to iPOD.
I sure support the above request about 2 DVD5's onto one DVD9. Another situation is that long movies have Part A on one side and Part B on the other. It would be nice to be able to put them on a DVD9 disc.

I'm a registred user of DvdFab Platinum.

Can this version create a ISO file with the dvd structure and maximum size of 4.7GB (Movie already compressed) ?

Yes. If you want everything that's on the disc, just choose Full Disc mode and click on the ISO icon (looks like a folder with a DVD in front of it) to the far right of the TARGET drop down box. A new box will open prompting you to enter a save location and volume name (or just accept the defaults). Most current releases will be heavily compressed. Platinum will write ISOs from any of the DVD modes. If you do alot of this you might want to increase the default DVD5 size from 4300 to something larger (I use 4464) in Common Settings. Helps a little with compression.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I'd like DVDFab 3.x.x.x to burn a whole folder when choosing 'Write Data' option like it was in version 2.9.x.x not just the VIDEO_TS directory within specified folder. I've already explained why this is important but got no reply.

Ah, I see now. I thought this feature was built into Clone mode, hence the check box if you want VIDEO_TS only or leave unchecked to clone entire disk. I don't use this mode much, but that was my understanding of how it functioned. Enlighten me.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

It's very good that 'Clone' mode has this option but you can clone only a disc and not a folder. That's why I think it will be useful to have an option to write DVD-Video Data only or entire folder in 'Write Data' mode.

Yes, I see your point now and it should not be too difficult to add, I wouldn't think (said Mr. Writes No Code).

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

1. split/customise combination (eg. leave main video untouched but compress menu or extras, some movies are too big for two dvds (main reason huge menu data)

2. total dvd space bar (like in dvdshrink) in customise mode

3. Custom cgp's

thanks and good luck

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I tried to back up DVD's using 3.0.5.0 and DVDfab failed 3 times. I tried the same movies on another machine in my home using 3.0.5.0 with the same results. I rolled back to 3.0.4.0 and the movies copied without any problems. Anyone else have a problem like this?

Hi revrod1946,

What's your detail error message/code when using 3.0.5.0?

Best Regards,

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Now, a few things i would love to see added as a future update,

1) Easily edit profiles. (Instead of the 3, 'Xvid-full audio', 'Xvid-mp3 audio', 'Mp4-ac3'), one could fully customize it to use say 'mp4 video' with 'full audio', only because 'mp4 audio' profile doesn't seem to retain the 5.1 audio channels (At least i don't hear 5.1 through same speakers used as when using 'Full Audio'.

2) Profile 'Default' settings. Be able to change the 'Default settings' used for future convertions (2-Pass, Filesize, quality, etc.) So after changing settings, one could save those if used frequently for personalized settings.

3) Be able to convert multiple selected files when using 'DVD to Mobile' function. (Like how you have the option of making a 'custom backup DVD' by selecting multiple 'Titles' you want to be included with the dvd) But in 'DVD to Mobile' MODE, selecting multiple Titles in the list would simply auto-convert multiple files, so a user could convert the movie & say "Bloopers" or "extras" video titles in one batch. (IE- selecting multiple would end up with a 'Talledega Nights' directory with movie.avi file, and 'title 2', 'title 3' files in main directory. Or even be able to rename those files.)

4) Be able (when using Custom) to individually select quality level of each selected 'Title', so a user could control using a higher Quality level for main movie, but use less quality towards other 'Not so important' titles where the quality CAN be sacrificed somewhat if not as important, BUT STILL WANTED INCLUDED with Backup Customized DVD.

5) Audio added to preview. So a user can better tell which clips are what when making a 'Custom DVD'. Some titles you can't tell by looking at a small video window, and not being able to hear the audio to tell if it's a title worth saving (IE-maybe a blooper real footage)

Those would be really nice to see added. Thanks for considering any of these AT THE LEAST.
