Thanks
Just for your information this program comes from China so the monkey icon is not stupid crap as they have many different animals relating to the years and so forth so the author can put what ever he wants in the program and it doesn't effect the program at all

Of course he can
but simple, plain text CGPs are'nt that difficult or problematic to add either...

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

How about some of these. You can download them here.
Caveat: these are from v0.17, not tested or tried for unpredictable effects. You're on your own. (but they will show up in the drop down CGP selector)

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Been using dvdfab for a bit now... great program.

My main problem with it? Easy, the interface theme... Why are we in Fisher-Price land? The rounded buttons, the colour scheme... Not as bad as some other programs (it seems to be particularly bad with other dvd backup software) but not good non the less.

There are user interface guidelines the author should follow. If it's a windows application the least he can make is to look like one. Use windows widgets and a proper title bar: the program would look much better and professional!

ps: a blank screen is much better that the monkey for the cgp's (and branding is just awful).

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

first - much thanks for all your work and the great software, i was sad to see the new vso burning engine had to be scrapped due to bugs, it worked well for me (in my small world) and it was faster than 4120! i hope in the future that there can be an updated burning engine that does not have the bugs!!! THANK YOU

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

New to this forum, but have been using dvd fab since version 3

Since most of the new hardware are multicore, can the next update have an option to enable the software to run under single core (for older CPU's) or multicore (2 or 4) for the new CPU's

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

One of my previous requests, where one can enter a custom title for the disc, have been implemented

However, it appears that when one use the ISO option as the target, it does not use the Volume Label as the title for the ISO file. It would therefore be great if it could do so.

Good thinking... nice to leave some CPU headroom available for other tasks.

However, this can be set by you, the user, for any program that you run, including DVDFab. Try this:

1) Start DVDFab
2) Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up the Windows Task Manager
3) Click on the Processes tab
4) Find DVDFab.exe and right-click on it
5) Go to "Set Affinity"
6) Specify how many of your CPUs you want to have DVDFab utilize

This will be a change that windows remembers, and DVDFab will only use the CPUs that you say it can, until you change it back. Sweet, huh?

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I use DVDFab to create H.264 files. I would appreciate having control over the profile that is used and/or the number of b-frames and reference frames.

Thanks for a great program.

Don't forget the DVDFab console executable also. Multitasking is not something I do very much when processing video, particularly when using the H.264 codec (look at the CPU usage on the Performance tab while it's running).

PSP issues

I'm finding it odd that even after choosing PSP as my target output, there is an option to check that says 'supported by device'(for aspect/resolution)

????

Why would I encode anything that is not supported by the device that I'm outputting for?

That being said I'm still getting a lot of 'unsupported media' responses from my PSP.

I'm also encountering frequent aborts a few chapters in. I can get thru the same disc successfully when encoding to the generic formats

Any advice?

Still, I'm a big fan

Specify ISO as default output

As a Default Output Folder can be specified, it would be of great help if the Default Output Format can be specified too. In my case I would like ISO.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Would it be possible to add an option to cut down on the huge folder hierarchy you get when you rip a dvd? For instance when I rip the main movie of a dvd, here's how it goes:
-> I first select a folder I want to rip into
|-> it creates a MainMovie folder inside that
|--> it creates a DVDVOLUME folder inside that
|---> It copies VIDEO_TS folder into that
|----> My vobs are finally in here

This maze of folders can be really annoying if I am ripping a bunch of dvds to my pc at once and want to be messing with all of them, as my screen is soon filled with a maze of folders. I think it would be great if I could have the option to cut the MainMovie and the DVDVOLUME folders out of the equation.

It's already there! Uncheck the box in Common Settings->General as explained here: http://www.dvdfab.com/docs/index.php...ettingsGeneral

You can do that under Settings --> General
Uncheck "Create files in subfolders of output directory"

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Love the software! Been using it for about a month now after I got tired of doing everything via 3 other programs.

I've noticed the resolutions are a bit... odd. Any chance we can have the opportunity to select the original resolution (I primarily use DVD => DVD and Generic.XVid.MP3 conversion). It's be nice to the the full DVD res availble.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I would like to see a command line interface added. I have a whole bunch of movies I ripped as full disc but now just want the main movie. If I could do something like dvdfab <source> <destination> -options and the options could be -f for full disk and -m for main movie. Main movie would just select the longest title set and if there were two that were equal in length and one was 16x9 and the other 4x3, for disks with FS and WS on one disk, it would select the 16x9 by default.

Other options could be keep or remove directors commentay, keep, remove, or keep only dts, keep two channel, multi-channel or both, set default language, keep or remove subtitles, choose 4x3 instead of 16x9, etc.

Obviously there are a lot of options that could be added, but those would be a good start. This would be a really nice addition for those looking to use DVDFab to automate the process of ripping movies a little more.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Based on my experience of the past couple of days, it would be really helpful if the Source disk info included whether the source was Parallel Track Path (PTP) or Opposite Track Path (OTP) mastered.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

It would help keep the file size down if U included an option to make AVIs have audio at 112 kbps and 44100 hz (or khz?) instead of always 48000 hz (or khz?),
