| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab personally i have no problems with dvdfab supporting other os's. i know people that still use win98 so removing that ability would not be good for them. supporting other operating systems does not affect the performance of dvdfab on my pc. now if it says that it supports win98 and me on the website and it doesnt then i agree either take that claim off the website or make the software work with those os's. |

| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab Hi All I would like to request that you add sound to the preview window if possible. also a comment about a problem I had. I went to make a backup copy of my grandsons dragon Tails dvd. It coppied to my hard drive just fine. About 13 min for 3.56 gigs for full disc but when I went to burn it to a DVD it took about 1hr 20 min. At first I thought it was a bad dvd or a prob with my dvd burner. Prob. was resolved by resetting the DMA in the general tab of the common settings. Burned it again and it took 13 min. Although the check for DMA automatically is checked in the common settings/ general tab it never popped up to ask me to reset it. Thanks for putting that feature in. I'm not sure why It changed on me but that sure fixed the prob. This is one of the best and easiest software programs I ever bought. Thank You |

| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab Currently when I select main movie I can only trim entire chapters off. I would like the ability to skip into the first chapter past the film studio banners and offset the start point. Same with the End, in the last chapter woul love to stop and loose the credits. Triming a few minutes here and their helps the conversion loss percentage. |

| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab I often get an entire season of a TV program on multiple DVDs at once. I usually quickly rip all discs to the hard drive and then set about converting each episode to a Divx file for streaming. I have to do each episode one at a time. Some type of batching that allows me to have the same type of task from the same and different sources would be nice. This way DVDFab can work day and night on the tasks until they are done and I can get some sleep. |

| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab -Save at any time Don't know if this issues has been discussed within the forum. Last night I ripped a DVD movie to IPOD, it took me more than 2hrs on my notebook PC. The question is :- DVDFAB 5 should be able to have a function to "save" the ripping process. In other words, if I can "save" ripping at anytime and continue ripping at a later time. This function should also be available for DVD to DVD copying. Let me know if the function is available anywhere in DVDFAB and how to use it. Thanks Folks

Separate configurable subpicture defaults for DVD to DVD and DVD to Mobile. When making a DVD I always want to include the subtitles because I can turn them off. When making a mobile file it would be very handy if the Forced Only could be defaulted. In fact, if you want to be really trick, you would include another flag that says "Include when audio is not my default language". That would be the ultimate automation for those few foreign language movies I get.

| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab Complication You can use Merge mode to select/process titles from up to 64 Sources into one VIDEO_TS folder, then process this with DVD to Mobile. The titles in the Merged volume will show individually on the mobile task list and will produce individual output files. The default audio and subic stream choice selections can be modified in Common Settings but not perhaps to the extent you want. Watch out for excessive heat buildup during extended DVD to Mobile batch jobs. Quote:

| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab I was wondering if it has been suggested that DVDFab be able to inform us of the file size for each audio streams in a selected dvd so we can decide how many audio streams to leave in or out or for both the DVD mode and DVD to Mobile based in the size of the audio stream. This way we know how much of the disc or avi space is taken up by audio. I guess this wouldn't be as important for those who use mp3 in their mobile settings mode but when chosing DTS or Dolby Digital for audio, I think knowing the size totals for any I chose woulde be cool. DVDFab 5.0.2.0 is working great for me so far. Thanks a bunch! Chris |

| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab This sounded like a good idea, but the merge function only allows you to select DVD5 or DVD9 as an output size. Merging all 5 discs from a season into a single folder at DVD9 size would severely cut the quality. Thanks for the thought though. |

| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab I've been using DVDFab Platinum to rip my DVDs so I can watch them on my Creative Zen Vision W (thank you for this great program!). My request is a minor one (I hope). When copying multi-disk DVDs (ones with a Side 1 and Side 2), I like to combine the two sides into a single AVI file using a freeware program called Virtual Dub (another great program). The only problem I have is when the Side 2 resolution is different from the Side 1 resolution (this happens about 1/3 of the time); Virtual Dub cannot handle this. For example, my ripped copy of the movie Cleopatra has a resolution of 640x276 on Side 1, and 640x278 on Side 2. I've also seen this minor change on the Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers Extended version (640x270 and 640x272; but parts 1 (Fellowship) and 3 (Return of the King) both did have the same resolution) and on The Man Who Would Be King (640x256 and 640x260). My request is that we be given a little more control over the resolution of the video so we can 'tweak' the resolution settings when necessary (i.e., buried way down in the Advanced Resolution section). I don't know if it would be easier to pad the lower-resolution file with one or two blank pixel lines, or to trim one or two pixel lines from the top and bottom of the higher resolution file; either way would be great. Thanks again for making a great program! |

| "Mobile to Mobile" conversion? I would like the input source to be able to be an mpeg, avi, or mp4 and to convert that into other mpeg, avi, or mp4 formats and resolutions. For double bonus points, also able to create the VOB and IFO structures to be able to author a DVD, but the basic conversions are more important. This would let DVDFab (I bought Platinum) truly become the hub/core translation device! |

| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab Hi Fengtao and Ting: I think it woud be a very useful thing to have DVD Fab Platnium start in DVD5 mode instead of DVD9, I myself have forgot to change this etting many times already, and had to rerip the whole DVD. I mean its not a big thing but it would make it easier for an old man like me to remember to set it. I believe more people use DVD5 discs than DVD9, so it would make it easier. ![]()

You can set this in Common Settings->DVD to DVD. One of the early v5 releases did not read it, but it seems to be working in 5.0.2.0. ![]()

It is a must, in my opinion. Very often is also necessary to convert a second and third audio streams with commentaries, a second language, etc. Is the only essential feature I miss into DVDFab to start to back-up my DVDs collection (for streaming from the hard Drive of the PC to the TV). I might be wrong, but it doesn't seem to difficult to implement so I can't understand how this feature is not included, not only in DVDFab but in any other commercial application (and I have been searching for months). It's necessary to deal with several free tools like AGK, etc. Please, add this feature.

| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab It would be awesome if technology like Dolby Headphone can be added to DVDFab Mobile, so that multichannel sound (e.g., DTS 5.1 or DD 5.1)'s surround effect can be largely retained in earphone (2 channel) environment. |
