Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Please, please, PLEASE add an option to NEVER automatically open the DVD tray. Many computers have doors which cover the entire front of the computer. Bad things happen when a DVD tray tries to open with the door shut.

The setting is already there go to Common Settings and click on Write and you will see
on the right hand side a box that says (Do not eject disc when finished burning) make
sure that the box is checked and it shouldn't eject the disc after burning anymore if I'm
understanding you correctly.

I only have one DVD drive. After DVDFab is done READING the disc, the DVD tray ejects and the program asks me to put in a blank disc. The check box you indicate only prevents the disc from ejecting after writing.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Trying DVDFAB 5 beta now...
Suggested future features:
1. Profile settings to allow customized (and often used) rip/burn profiles to be defined and set up in advance (similar to way DVDNEXTCOPY does)....then include "profile selection" dropdown menu on main interface to select customized profile

e.g.:
Profile 1: Rip full DVD to HD - enable jump to main menu
Profile 2: Burn VIDEO_TS file to DVD

2. Option to disable screen saver during burn/rip

3. Include option to automatically burn copy of DVD after ripping original DVD to HD

4. Allow storage of ripped DVD files directly in specified target folder (e.g., allow option not to create sub folders of "Full Disc" "Main Movie" "Customize" etc....) to allow for all ripped DVD title folders to be located in a SINGLE folder (allows for easier searching)....

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Would it be possible to add a segment record option to dvd to mobile, so you can test a part of the video, before comminting to the finil settings. Also could their be a audio sync button added that you could check a box if audio was out of sync, which would bring audio back into sync.

Thanks,
Regards,

I would like to see a choice for region code. Make region free like it is now or choose the region you want 1,2,3,4,5,6 or multiple region.

Do you think you can improve the advanced title settings in that way?

Another question, it could be great if we can open subtitles (.srt, .sub for exemple) in DVDfab platinum (Nero Recode can do it).

Thanks a lot
I would like this points in a next release. It would be great!

Thanks

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

main movie mode allowed for ONE CLICK dvd to dvd back up with minimal compression and only the movie. when going to the additional options page main movie can use "rewind when done playing" (nice addition thank you) and "volume label" (again very nice addition ).

maybe add these to the main movie page above the "title start/end settings", instead of an additional page for main movie mode.

thanks troy

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

In the burn speed drop down list in the settings, when you have ImgBurn selected as the burn engine, add 'AUTO' as a write speed option.

Now if you already use AUTO in ImgBurn and you burn thru DVDFab it will leave the latest used DVDFab writing speed as default when DVDFab is done and I like to have it to AUTO as default in ImgBurn.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I've asked before so I'll ask again.

1) A DVD Load/Unload button similar to DVDDecrypter

2) In the customize section, an additional Quality setting called customizeable which allows you to set percentage and disc size via a slider bar similar to DVD Shrink.

That's all I really want! Thanx!

You can setup your burner and the speed you want to use for every disc you have using ImgBurn. Set it up and no worries Works great for me.

In ImgBurn just open ImgBurn, put your blank disc in the drive, and then click on "Tools" then click on "Automatic Write Speed". Do this for all your media and the drive you use and done.

yes and i really like this feature of ImgBurn. However when burning dvdfab will send a write speed and imgburn will ignore the Auto settings. (at least this has been my experience.) i first set write speed as Recommended, and thought that imgburn was using the Auto write settings.(depends when blank disk is inserted) but now every time dvdfab will send 16x write speed, unless of course if i choose a different speed from dvdfab. then next time i open imgburn, independently, the write speed is 16x or what ever i choose from last burn from dvdfab.

now here is the strange part. select Recommended as write speed, leave the burning drive empty, when imgburn is opened, click on the device tab, you will see Auto in the write speed, now insert blank media and ImgBurn will use the appropriate Auto speed.

but if i have a blank disc in the drive when imgburn is opened, writing will start with an incorrect speed.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Sorry if this is a duplicate.. I have some DVDs of TV shows that I want to backup as individual episodes for viewing on my Divx player. In the "Split" UI, it would save a ton of effort if we could select individual titles and have all of them separately split off to separate folder trees (with no menus, PGCs, etc.). Titles are generally TV episodes. With such a feature we could then render the episodes to DIVX format (or other formats)..

@ Bob

Already using this feature.

@ troy512

True. The AUTO option in the drop-down list would be great to have.

The ImgBurn CLI already supports it, so it shouldn't involve much work to have it added in DVDFab.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I would love to have an option that would let me run in a "headless" machine. When the program is running and the option is enabled, when I insert a DVD, run a predefined option (like Copy Full Disk) automatically. When the DVD is ejected and a blank writeable disk is inserted, automatically write it.

I would also like to see the ability to (automatically, as an option) have different compression for different parts. For instance, I like minimal compression on the menus and main title and a higher compression for the special features. With some DVDs, you can leave the menu and main feature at 100% by compressing the special features. On others, I like the special features compressed as much as possible and the main title and menus as uncompressed as possible.

Great product! Fast, user friendly, and very well maintained! Looking forward to 5.0!

You still need to manually take the burned disc out and insert a blank one, unless that is done "headless" too

Jellybean, you're right, but I believe verninator wants to be able to burn discs without having to click on GUIs to setup a burn since its a headless machine. I don't think he's concerned about having to manually handle CDs in and out of a tray.

That way, you insert the disc, it rips, replace with new disc, it burns.
Nothing to setup everytime!

I think it's a great idea.

Hi fengtao!

It is possible a cosmetic change to user interface in DVDFab? Maintain the original colors of Windows. With this DVDFab would be for me a perfect program

Thanks in advance

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

On top of my wish list is.

1: Resolution as source (seems stupid to use time and power to upscale/downscale when u use dif. devices that do it again when playing)
2: Easy start/end of movie adjusting (like in nero recode and dvdshrink)

Exactly!

The machine I use to copy DVDs is also my PVR. I don't have a keyboard or mouse hooked up to it. When I copy DVDs, I have to use VNC from another computer (or plug in a keyboard and mouse) to access the GUI. It also interferes with watching TV, since I have to pull up the GUI. I would rather it just detect DVD and DVD-R insertions and do the copying automatically without having to do anything in the GUI (once it's initially set up) .

I have Windows Media Player set up similarly for CDs. When I insert a CD into the machine, it automatically rips it, adds it to my library, and ejects it. I don't have to do anything but feed it CDs. That made it really easy to digitize my 400+ CD collection.

Although this wouldnt be a deciding factor of me using/not using DVDFab...I still think it's the best idea. I'm not at all crazy about the colors in the new UI. The darker theme was much better. The new disc icons used to represent functions are embarassing as well. Go back to the previous UI or allow Windows to affect the "look" of DVDFab.

And, for the record, I never have, nor do I now think the monkey icon is appealing. It could be...it isnt the monkey itself as a mascot...it's the icon. Could have been designed a little better.

But, as I've said, these are my opinions on the UI and do not keep me from wanting to use this awesome program.

Yes, the monkey icon is a bit ugly, and the primitive look of DVDFab was truly elegant. Please, posibility of retourn to DVDFab primitive look, Thanx
