Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

It would be really nice to have a Decomb deinterlacing option show up when a made for TV movie or a TV Series is converted from DVD Format.

This does cause some computer monitors to display lines when viewing them.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

On the video preview, it would be very nice if it had buttons to browse to next/previous chapter, to help in deciding which chapters can be skipped.

It would also be nice if you could select specific chapters to rip, instead of having to select a "range" of chapters. Like if I only wanted chapter 1, 3, and 5.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Don't know if available but would like the option to brighten a video as I copy it. I copy my dvd's to my Archos player or my IPOD and sometime the darkness in movie along with small screens make for a very hard to see picture. If available already I can't seem to find it if not would love to see it added. Maybe a slider that lets you go up or down a fixed notch maybe up 5 steps or down.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Newer video cards from ATI have hardware encoding ... I have an HD3850 which encodes 1GB vob in 3-4 minutes ... however the software they supply AVIVO Video Converted is extremely broken ... would love it if you added support for these cards ... no one does today ... believe me people are looking for faster encode times ...

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I must first admit I do not know given all the recent upgrades to Fab if this is already possible. I am going to do a new build later in the year and will include a LG BD burner. Given that at some point you will be able to burn up to 200GB. Would (Is) it be possible to burn multible films to a BDR disc. In SD format.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Humble requests:

Next to remove dts, remove any selected audio track you wouldn't like in the backup.

Remove selected subtitles and automatic rearranging of the subtitling schematic.

Ability to cut movie stream to leave out intro's and end credits.

Ability to reduce intro and end credit quality to lower quality, so main movie doesn't need to reduce so badly.

Ability to reduce everything but the main movie to lower quality, so main movie doesn't need to reduce so badly.

Visibly show what happens to the quality of all the audio and video streams when you decide to reduce its quality.

Support for hardware MPEG decoders.

Merge two or more dvd's with a top-level menu where one can select one of the main menu's of choice.

Fully automatic dvd to dvd writing (auto detecting Single Layer, Dual Layer or High Definition disc). I.E. : DVD movie in disc 1, 4.5 DVD+R in disc 2, one press of a button, done.

Watermarking of logo and or timestamp in menu's, audio and/or video streams.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

wel, I downloaded dvdfab 4.1.0.2 today, I was surprised when they said they added cropping feature but It disappointed me, DVDFAB likes to limit you with it's predefined resolutions even in cropping section!
What happened to original resolution? My dvd is 720x480 but it has 704x304 and 736x320 there isn't anything between!
The advanced resolution settings has some disabled options...
Also i Wish it had a bitrate reducing capabality for AC3 audio which help making 1 CD AC3 DVDRips with acceptable Video bitrate!
Also a saving of project would be useful

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Sorry if I miss out something...

I mainly use DVDfab for DVD --> Ipod, I wish to have features as below:

1) in the frame rate selection, able to select "same as source" instead of making me choose one, which may be wrong

2) hardware encode acceleration (even if only for ATI)

Thanks!

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

When backing up a movie, I would like to be able to crop out the beginning and end credits to lessen the amount of compression needed to fit on a DVD-5.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I have a few requests/suggestions:
- convert main movie to a dvr-ms file
- option to have a single VOB file output
- include a 5.1 channel WMA codec for Xbox360 output
- include a 5.1 channel audio codec for PS3 output

Keep up the amazing work. This app is the greatest invention since the wheel!

I'm new, DVD to DVD complete what now?

Hello all. I am new to this forum and to DVDfab and have no idea what i'm doing. I just completed the first 20 minutes or so of copying dvd to DVD part. Now what? How do I get the files that were placed in documents to a DVD that back up and use.

My son and daughter are very hard on DVDs so it would be nice to make some back ups for them. I am using DVD+R recordable 4.7gb. What now? The tutural doesn't really explain after that how to use it.

Is there a forem better for this kind of post?

What version of DVDFab are you using? The free version (DVDFab HD Decrypter) does not have a disc burning function, the Gold and Platinum versions have this built in. The Tutorial is written for the Platinum version. You can use any burning software (e.g. Nero or the free ImgBurn) to transfer the files from your hard drive to a blank DVD.

And please ask your questions in a separate topic in the forum otherwise they get lost in a long thread like this and maybe never get answered.

Re: I'm new, DVD to DVD complete what now?

If you are using dvdfab gold. If you have a burner. If you know where the ripped file is. Then open dvdfab and on the left side there are options, select write data, then it should show on the right side which writer it will be using make sure it is the correct one, change if needed, above that, there is a folder option, locate the ripped file and, insert blank media, wait approx. 15 secs and push burn button.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Thank you for this release. DVDfab is a great software

I wonder if it is possible to have a better advanced title settings.

In DVDshrink it is possible to cut a movie with precision (ex: 1h02m12frame). In DVDfab, it's only possible to cut on a chapter.

Do you think you can improve the advanced title settings in that way?

Another question, it could be great if we can open subtitles (.srt, .sub for exemple) in DVDfab platinum (Nero Recode can do it).

Thanks a lot

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Great product!

It would be helpful, when ripping multiple titles, if there was a way to enter the correct settings (bitrate, etc.) for one and apply it to all of them.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

In addition to another vote for a 5.1 WMA codec, I have a few DVDs that are a pain to convert. The important data is all in a single title of 24 chapters, but it should actually be divided into 4 episodes. If I could create "phantom titles" such that I could rip tracks 1-6 into one file, 7-12 into another and so on all in a single pass I'd be a very happy camper.

Well, maybe I wouldn't be to enthusiastic about this feature since I'll be busy ripping the DVDs in four steps instead of one. But someone after me may be happier

I'd also recommend pruning out this thread a bit, there are a lot of feature requests in the early posts that have already been implemented and it's a little tough to get through all the posts for a noob like me.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I'm not all that sauvy but it would be nice to "crop" the lead in and credits to reduce compression, like shrink does. Also a simple way to extract mp3 audio from a concert dvd to be able to transfer to a personal player. Maybe it's available an I don't know to do these things. I am a Platinum user.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I absolutely love this software!!! I bought DVDFab Platinum many moons ago and I think it is hands down the best DVD ripping software around.

Really the only thing that I can see would make it 110% is having sound in the preview window. I was really hoping to see this feature added into version 4. I find that I do still go back to Shrink when customizing some DVD's just for the sound feature alone. Thanks for a great product!!!
