DVDFab / DVD Region+CSS Free Discuss, Feature Requests for DVDFab at Copy Movie forum; With dial up it's tough to go through the almost 30 pages here. So bare with me if this has been requested. How about some way of compiling flash videos and converting them so they will burn to dvd? Maybe it can do this already. I don't know.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

-if you remove lets say extra's would it be possible for dvdfab to disable the buttons for the stuff you removed (menu and buttons) this would make the menu a little smaller and have more MB's for the movie

-would it be possible to replace animated menus with stills? some menus are HUGE and replacing them with stills would give you more MB's for the movie lol

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Please add a "Verify when done" check-box to the burn screen (perhaps above the "Automatically turn off PC when done" check-box). This would allow us to override the preference on a disk-by-disk basis.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I agree with the poster before that said it would be nice to have DVDFab automaticallly detect blank media instead of having to manually click OK. Programs like Nero SmartStart do that same thing. I would definitely appreciate this feature. Any time I can make something take less steps... that is great for me.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Hi Fengtao,

The program keeps getting better and better!

I would like to see the following:
1) When installing DVDFab, I would like to see the capability to print off the "following important information before continuing" to refer to later if need be....
2) The ability to shrink a movie using DVDFab instead of an outside program, then having to navigate to another folder to obtain the files and finally burning with DVDFab....
3) A way to minimize DVDfab when burning to a smaller screen to view the status instead of only having the option to minimize it to the bottom tool bar....
4) All the tutorials/features be made into .pdf format so everyone can view them instead of having to be online to view.

I personally took the time to copy/paste them all into Wordpad so that I could either refer to them offline or print them out without having to use so much ink. Granted it took me a bit of time, but I didn't care to stay on line to read them.

I swiftly searched for other posts that maybe would refer me to another page(?) in order to seek out maybe some of my feature requests, and found nothing. So please forgive me if any of these are or should be doubles of what someone else may have posted.

Otherwise, you all do some awesome work!! *Ü*

DVD Platinum already does this and very well indeed.

it does? everytime i try it says i need to put a dvd9 in because the file is too large for a single layer disk. what id like is for when you set the selector to dvd5 or dvd9 the file is automatically compressed to fit onto a dvd5 if thats what you selected. until it does things that easy i see no reason to veer away from using dvdshrink (imho).

GregiBoy is absolutely correct...
This is and was a feature way back as far as 2004 when platinum was comprised of express and gold.
If you wish to burn to an SL and have 2 ODDs, it is truly a 1-click process, no matter what the original file size.

Clone mode requires that the blank and original be the same size. Other modes will compress if necessary to fit the size of your blank.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

1) A button to load/unload DVD tray.
2) Slidebar to shrink all or parts by % and size (a la DVDShrink)

Thanx!

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I know this is beyond the normal use of DVDFab but a way to back up Audio Books as MP3's so that I do not have to carry so many disc in the car and worry about damage would be fantastic.

DVDFAB is a video backing up software not a CD backing up software

Oh goodness gracious alive! I wasn't aware of this either...Guess I have to go back to re-read the tutorials and find where it tells someone how to do this part
I'm beginning to wonder if I'm ever going to learn this program the proper way? I haven't honestly haven't tried to do a disc-to-disc (my purchased movie to a blank dvd-r disc), but I'll give it a try in a bit. I've been trying to go from a either one of two folders (first folder is a complete movie of 7.43 gb, and the other is the shrunk version of 4.35 gb of the same movie) on my desktop which neither have worked out for me yet.

Hi Mrs Gee,

With Platinum, this is the best way I have found to do thing for me so maybe you can glean something from this.....

STEP 1.

Create a DVD9 ISO of the DVD somewhere on your hard disk somewhere.

STEP 2.

Set Fab to movie only, Open the ISO and burn to DVD5 in my burner. Some others burn to DL and some do Full Disk. Preference is yours.

STEP 3.

Set Fab to Mobile, open the ISO again and produce the file for your iPod, XBox, PS3, PC or whatever.

STEP 4

Delete the original created ISO.

Once you get these steps correct, you will never look back.

Regards,
Greg

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

More than likely this has been requested before, but here goes...

As DVDfab is ugraded so regularly (thanks), wouldn't it be easier to simply download & install updates as they became available, rather than have to continually un-install & re-install the entire program each time?
I have numerous software programs that automatically search for & install component upgrades when they become available without needing to download the entire program again, so why not DVDfab?
I like to keep up with the new versions, but when you're on dialup & when updates can be days apart, it becomes a bit of a pain in the arse.
In the same way that setting changes need to take effect, you could simply download/install updates then just restart DVDfab to activate the changes.

Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing.

Just keep installing over the old version, no need to uninstall the program first

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I prefer to check " Eject disc after write," and "Verify disk after write." Then I can walk away until the operation is done. Currently, however, when a disk is ejected after the write, the windows autorun dialog pops up and requires user input. This prevents an unattended write-verify cycle.

So the Feature Reqeust is: [b]"Hook" (i.e., suppress) the Windows autorun dialog that pops up when an DVD/CD is inserted into any drive selected by DVDFab/B]

Note: DVDFab intemittently does this correctly, but I can't characterize the conditions under which it does.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

If this is an option or has not been asked, what about "on the fly burning" kind of like Nero Recode does when burning their disc ( i figured it will get rid of alot of unwasted time if the program would allow and still be stable)

Okay, this is where I might be having a problem?
I see these things in my folder (see attached picture) in order to see what I mean. As not to cross-post, I'll look for your reply on the "Can DVD Fab Copy A Copy Of A Movie" board if that's alright with you? I don't want to violate any terms nor fill up this one with things that don't apply to the topic or upset anyone.
((Thanks)) for your help Gregi

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I would like to be able to set a different start and end time/frame for each title - or preferably for each chapter. DVD Shrink has this option for a title in reauthor mode, but I'd prefer to use DVDFab. Any chance?

Cheers, Hooky
