Hi Troy,

I just now downloaded the latest version as a setup file on my computer successfully. Maybe when I did a clean uninstall I got rid of a corrupted file that was preventing me from doing this before. Maybe I'll try upgrading to the latest version again if nobody else is having a problem splitting dvds with it.

Thanks,

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

ok, I'm a brand new user so I'm still coming up to speed with these programs and I have searched a bit already without finding this info, so here is my question, I have a Sony VAIO VGX-XL3 and a XGP-XL1B3 200 disc changer, and I wanted to know if there was any support for this software or any future plans for supporting Batch ripping of DVDs. I know other programs have people trying to update their programs to work with these changers and they have to incorporate the mounting and unmounting of the discs for continuous ripping/burning. I'm not too worried about customizing the ripping/burning, just looking for 1-to-1 batch copying.

I'd never heard of these gadgets so I looked them up.

It amuses me that while one part of Sony corporation is busy doing its best to stop you copying any of its content with root kits & other nasties, another part of the same company wants to sell you industrial scale batch copying hardware just in case you need to copy 200 DVDs at once

is this what's called hedging your bets ???

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

id like the ability to increase the volume when doing a dvd to mobile. seems all the vids i do with this option i have to turn the tv up to full blast just to hear it at the normal audio level. if this is a settings issue please tell me how to fix it.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

hi pythonis,

it is just a settings issue. have you read the tutorial yet? it is the official guide for dvdfab.

try this page all the way at the bottom where it says volume:

If you are using an Audiocopy profile which retains the DD5.1 sound you cannot change it. If using an MP3 or AAC profile, you can.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Not sure if this has already been suggested/accepted/denied... I tried searching the forums and couldn't find it... sorry if a dupe....

When I do a DVD->Mobile... and say, I'm doing all the episodes of a TV show. Say, Season 1 of Family Guy... it has say 8 episodes. So, I select all 8 and hit next. The default is to set to generic.xvid(I think), but I like to make all my videos in PS3 (customized default), and instead of double-clicking and individually setting all 8 episodes manually to PS3... it would be nice to select all and configure for PS3... and basically save that configuration for all 8 episodes. Doing 8 individually isn't too bad... but when you are doing a full volume, 4 DVD's, about 30 episodes, it gets very tedious.

Again, sorry if a dupe... pointing to the duplicate post would be appreciated if it has alredy been addressed.

Thanks! Keep up the great work!

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

If you click on the PS3 device in the DVD to Mobile navigation bar, all of the episodes (or other titles you've selected) will be processed using the default (factory or user customized) settings for PS3 without any further intervention.
If the PS3 does not appear you may need to upgrade to v4.0.3.0. You will need to save any customized defaults on the Configure page the first time you use the device.

since i never know what kind of tv i will be watching the disks on, i keep all english audio files. plus i dont know the difference between them all and burning a disk with no audio would kinda suck.

Why don't you work out the requirements of your devices and make one yourself, test it out and post it on the forum.

It is quite easy, so why not give it a go?

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Hello, I love this program but want to echo the request that dvdfab can "see" the blank media and eliminate the need to click "ok" to burn. Also a way to set a number of copies, but that one's a very minor fix.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

ok heres something id like to be able to do but cant seem to figure out how. i would like to take some of my tv series disks and make "best of" disks which would mean (for example) taking episodes 1 and 2 of the first disk, 4 and 6 of the 2nd, 1 and 3 of the third (so on and so on), and combining them all onto one disk and burning. problem is all of the vob files and all (im guessing) are named the same or conflicting with each other because i am unable to get it to work. actually let me get a bit more detailed on that. after i rip the episodes i try running the rip through dvdshrink but shrink goes into some sort of error mode and closes. is it possible to do what i mentioned above using only fab? if so, how?

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

DVDFab Platinum Merge mode will do this. There is information in the Tutorial and a Merge mode Guide under Tutorial/Guides at dvdfab.com.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Hey I just bought DVDFab Platinum and I had some ideas/suggestions.

- It says it supports the divx codec, but I can't find anywhereto change it from xvid to divx.
- To watch preview of the progress while ripping or encoding.
- To play the dvd movie.
- Special Effects that can be added?

It does not support external codecs, so you cannot change from XVid to Divx
The progress is displayed in the log window and just below
It is not a DVD Player, so it will not play the DVD movie althoug a preview window is shown bottom left when setting up for encoding.
It cannot add special effects but has a variety of ripping/encoding methods.

RTFM.... (I mean tutorial )

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

i believe that since this is a feature request forum that shadowstriker was requesting those features to be placed onto dvdfab...not asking how to do them.

1. I know - I mean for them to add this.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Sorry for the double post, but I can't think of another way to have someone from Fengtao address this problem/feature.

Can you have DVDFAb Platinum support English (or any other for that matter) subtitles that are listed in the subtitle streams as being unknown.

I am trying to back up a foreign movie with ONLY English subtitles but for some reason it lists the subs as "Unknown" and when I rip it to and Divx/avi file the subtitles don't come out.

Either this is a problem with the program or maybe Fengtao can add support or maybe override the unknown subtitles and force it to be directly rendered to the movie...thanks..
