i don't know if this has already been requested (and i've missed it) but the ability to select "merge into one file" when ripping multiple files to an ipod/mp4 file (from vob) would be very much appreciated.

The ability, when copying a DVD to iPod to create files from chapters on the DVD automatically (instead of selecting each chapter and creating a file manually)

I can't find whether this has been requested:

- Batch jobs feature for "generic", to allow recoding of existing ISOs for different devices

- Allow "Customize" option in DVD to DVD, not only DV5 or DV9. This way I don't need to go to Preferences every time I want to limit the size of the resulting DVD ISO

I know this has been suggested before but I think having sound in the preview window would be a great assest to this already fantastic software!!

it would be awesome if the 'generic' (xVid+MP3) rip to AVI would include the capability to pre-set and/or edit (some, not necessarily all) AVI tags - avoiding the "need" to go back and edit same.

Make a version thats is as good as 3.1.8.0. Still use 3.1.8.0 as the other versions are not up to my standards anyway and i know it's your program. However versions after 3.1.8.0 have so many more problems yet 3.1.8.0 can't maybe copy what at most 2-3 movies in R1 land. Im just waiting it out for you to get something solid as im done loading over version or version and going back to 3.1.8.0 which is almost bug free.

Haven't had any problems with any versions so don't think it's FAB maybe some other conflick problems or setting that you have

I would like the ability to automatically rip each chapter to separate files for a title. Lots of TV show dvds and music video dvds put all the material into one title and so i have to rip each episode or music video manually. This takes ages.

Even better, would be the ability to rip chapter ranges automatically. For example, with one tv show dvd, each episode always takes 5 chapters, so I'd like to be able to set the software to separate the title into 5 chapter segments.

You can use Merge mode to do this--sort of. You still have to set it up manually, but then you can leave it and come back with a VOB for each chapter. I've never tried it with more than 6, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Here is a link to a post with screen captures showing the setup. Start a "Using Merge To..." thread if you have questions--too hard to find in here.

When I rip my DVDs to the hard drive, how about letting the user decide the folder structure instead of adding on the folders, 'FullDisc, Generic, DVD-Video, etc?' When I select the ouput folder, I just want DVDFAb to create the Audio and Video folders in that destination

Yeah I'll second that.

I found that behaviour quite odd compared to other programs and I'd prefer to choose the output folder without having any automatic sub-folder structure created.

I would prefer this too and it has been requested here in the past. I think the folder structure is there so users who want one-click simplicity don't have to set up destinations every time. Also makes it harder to overwrite a file. There was also a problem once with DVD volume names with (windows) disallowed characters. I think this structure makes it easier for DVDFab to deal with that ("DVD_VOLUME"). What I suggested was a checkbox to "Turn DVDFab Default Folder Structure Off" or "Specify DVD Volume Name".

In the official tutorial it states --- DVD to mobile/Generic: Convert DVD title to VOB/MPG file that can play on your PC or mobile devices. ---VOB is an available output option , but not MPG. Why not go ahead and have the MPG output as an option so Tivo users and Concert DVD playlist users will not have to rename the files to .mpg? These .mpgs can also be imported into the free programs ,DVDStyler or DVDAuthorGUI, for menu creation.

The program seems to copy the disc into a folder with the same name as the disc. Perhaps an option can be included to rename the destination folder?

Quite often the DVD is labelled something like DVD_VOLUME, and it would be great to have the option to rename it to the actual title of the disc.

If you go to 71/82 on the play scroll bar you can see what i mean.

It would be nice to have an automatic or manual function to trim the outer area. Sometimes i create my own dvds and sometimes the 16:9 size is way to small, so having this kind of feature would help and enable me to see much more of the picture.
