I HAVE USED TRIAL OF DVDFAB AND IT IS THE BEST TOOL IN THE MARKET
FOR DVD's BUT ONE THING WHICH I THINK IS LACKING IN IT IS THE
SUPPORT FOR -VR DVD's .THAT's RIGHT DVDFAB DOES NOT SUPPORT -VR DVD
OR .VRO FILES . SO ONE CANNOT MERGE OR SPLIT A -VR DVD

I THINK THIS THING IS VERY ESSENTIAL FOR A TRUE DVD TOOL

SO THE MAKERS OF DVDFAB I THINK U SHOULD ADD SUPPORT FOR -VR DVD
IN NEXT VERSION OF DVDFAB

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Great Update of course.

Just one request about the Preview screen, can this be made detachable and can it also have a feature to view the preview screen in different sizes?
Because my computers resolution is set to 1280 by 1024 pixels and the preview screen is aliitle small.

This for me would be helpful.

Thanks again for a great software.

This is a great suggestion. My current screen is 1440x9xx, the one on its replacement 1680x who knows what. Almost need a magnifier for these tired old eyes now.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Hi all

My request for dvdfab is a 2pass quality transcode mode, like nero recode 2, DVD Shrink, Pinnacle Istantcopy. Pinnacle Istantcopy have , for me, the best 2 pass quality mode.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

How about an easy way of converting a film from DVD to DIVX

You could put in an option that closely matches the resolution and ratio of the origanals.

I have tried to convert films on generic, and the quality is never as good as the ones I have watched elsewhere.

Set the filesize to 700meg, and it still comes otu at 275 meg, even on a 2hr film.

Could be called clone2divx. a sort of no brainer DVD to DIVX conversion utility.

I really can't get it to work as it is.

WAY to many options.

Thanks

Mikey

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Not sure if this has been covered but I would like to see that DVD to iPod conversion to have the ability to do "full screen" so that we can have the options to keep the movie with "widescreen" bars on the bottom or top. Currently, I have to go use another software to do this. Would love to see an all-in-1 capability.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I know I have asked for this in the past, and I'd like to ask for it again...

Plsss, for DVD Mobile (mine is DVD to iPOD)

Auto chapter split, when ripping the whole DVD (main film) or when selecting multiple chapters

i.e., each chapter will be a separate file with a sequential number, DVDA 01, DVDA 02, DVDA 03 (the chapter number) etc.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

i really want dvdfab able to extract specific contents like subtitles, audio seperately,
without videos (i.e extract subtitles *.vob, audio *.ac3) like other dvd ripper software
(smartripper), i think it is really good for dvdfab to gain another considerable market,
which was hold back because these features.
thx

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

i use dvdfab on my vista desktop ever since vista came out,and up until v 3.1.8.0 it never triggered the UAC, can you do some thing to get it to not trigger UAC again??

DVDFab is the greatest and its a shame to have this aggrevating quirk when using it on vista now..

thanks

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

For Platinum, I'd like to be able to set an option so that menus were always turned off by default. The 'no menus, play titles continuously' checkbox would always default to on.

Also, a way to specify that compression would NEVER be used. So that I'd be warned if trying to write to a size that required compression.

Thanks!

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Doesn't the movie only mode do this with the no menus, also if you used DVD-9 instead of 5's you wouldn't have compression

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Jimbo - I generally make an ISO when I purchase a movie, to watch from my video server.

Main Movie mode will not allow you to select other features in addition to the main movie.

The Custom mode allows me to create the ISO with just the features I want. I have to specify the ISO size, and get it correct, if I don't want any compression.

I must also remember to specify 'no menus' in Custom mode.

Now, sometimes, I know that I'll want to burn a copy of a movie I'll want to watch often so that the original can't be damaged. I generally want to burn to DVD5, if it will all fit. But, I'd want a warning if compression were to be used, as I'd toss the resultant DVD if I accidentally burned it with compression (I watch on 65" HDTV).

Thus my request to default to 'no menus' and warm me if I'm about to compress.

Regards.

I also do almost all my burns to DVD with Customize/No Menus. Since there is already a page for Customize in Common Settings, there is already a place to add some switches to let us set up some user defined defaults for this handy mode. How about it, Fengtao ?

You can assure that compression will never happen by setting the default size for whichever disc you have set as your default to something huge, like 10,000MB.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Signals - if I set the default size to 10,000mb, I would not be guaranteed that I could burn the created ISO, especially that it would fit on a DVD5.

Often, I create an ISO with the intention of burning it later - and at the moment use Nero with its verify pass to burn.

I based that suggestion on your comment that you do the rips for viewing via a server on your bigscreen. This would have the same effect as a "never compress" button. The Quality % readout will let you know if compression will be present. DVDFab has a Verify option now. I think most users would not want a popup box with a compression warning that would have to be "OK'd" to proceed (but I can see that it would be handy for the way you use DVDFab).

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Signals - Both my suggestions would be optional, set by a checkbox in a configuration screen.

Their default would be to the normal mode of operation, so this would not affect anyone who does not check the boxes.

The warning could be a bit of flashing red text, a popup would not be necessary.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Great software!

I'm kinda simple in my usage, so my request is aimed at some of the repetition that I run into.

I pretty much just want to make generic copies with the subtitles burned in.

Problem is that from disc to disc the subpicture/audio info is ordered in different ways, sometimes labeled incorrectly or not at all.

I would like to request that the preview also display the subtitles so I know that I have the correct subpicture selected and not have to run hit and miss tests.

Adding audio to the preview would be nice but that is much less a concern.

I'd also really like to not have to manually choose 'burn to video' for each track on discs that have multiple subpictures. Since it seems to default to the other option in those cases.

Of course, if there is a way to do any of this now, please let me know.

Thanks

Hey,

Awesome product, but it would be great if saw III was able to convert. When i burn a copy it wont close the disc. It writes the whole disc until the end and then says "writing file to disc failed".

Any suggestions

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Let me first start with the obligatory ass kissing; Fab is a great piece of software & as a relative newcomer to DVD ripping (& computers in general for that matter) I must say its user friendliness is bloody fantastic.
My only gripe is the 'merge' feature.
I've read the 'merge tutorial' supplied by one of the forum members & I can't help but think there must be an easier way for us Luddites who want to use Fab only (not nero or IMGburn) from rip to write in the same way we would to copy a single disc & using only the one drive to read/rip.

Could a 'sequence paused' step be introduced along with a prompt/auto-eject asking for the next disc to be inserted?

Selection of 'main movie', 'full disc' etc could be done as normal & independent of the previous stored/paused files.

The ability to add multiple full discs to the one 'merge' disc such as 6 full discs (or more) onto one DVD5 (albeit maximum compression/poor quality, but entirely up to the users discretion).

These requests may have been made in the past before, but the forum is huge & I'm too short on time to trawl through it, so I'll ask anyway.

I don't pretend to know the first thing about this kind of software or how it works but surely Fengtao & Co. could work their magic to make this one feature a little more idiot friendly.

There are many threads on this movie, may I suggest that you use the search feature to find the threads on this movie and you might find your answer there, as many people have copied this movie in the past.

I wrote the tutorial. Merge mode was designed as a batch process precisely for the purpose to which you object, that being the ability to set it all up and walk away while it works, which I think has been appreciated by many including myself. I respect your preferences but can't understand why you would want to manually babysit a process that can be automated; it just seems counterintuitive. And the ass kissing is optional.
