Hi,

Great product. Sometimes when I split a dvd subtitles appear on the second dvd-r. My solution is to copy that disc in custom mode while deselecting all the captions. Another problem I've had is I can't split the Terminator 2 Extreme dvd. When I try I keep getting the read error 102. I can back that dvd up to a 7.81 GB file okay, but I can't split that file.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Just need a few improvements with DVDFAB...

1. Don't do an "exclusive lock" on all available DVD burning drives. I have two DVD burners and I would like the ability to run two instances of DVDFAB at once to rip/copy two different movies at the same time. However, upon trying to start the second instance I think DVDFAB reports an error or something saying it can't open my other DVD drive/burner... even though the first instance isn't even using it. I think the first instance has all DVD burners locked for exclusive access.... ARG!

2. If I save a movie to an ISO file (and give it my own custom ISO file name), DVDFAB will lose revert the filename back to the default DVD LABEL filename if I change modes... for example... between FULL disc or Main Movie Only. This is annoying. DVDFAB should keep the custom filename upon switching among copy modes.

3. If I'm burning something with one of my DVD burners (usually use DVD Decrypter) and start up DVDFAB, it will usually cause DVD Decrypter to fail burning... with something like: Failed to Write Sectors XXXX - YYYY - Power On, Reset, or Bus Device Reset Occurred.

thanks!

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Would it be possible to add some support in DVD to Mobile for the Archos AV604? Specifically I would like to be able to have the video converted to 720 by 480 pixel format with 29.97 fps, this is for 16:9 format and for 4:3 format 640 by 480 pixel format with 29.97 fps. I can't seem to select either of these options in the Generic option. Also, I believe these formats would convert quickly since the pixels are being matched one for one.

Absolutely an awesome program, keep up the good work!

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I've been looking for help on how to Merge two DVDs into one. I have downloaded the DVDFAB Platinum and it has a merge feature but it only allows me to select one DVD drive. I can't find out how to merge two separate DVDs. They are both only about 10 minutes each so it shouldn't be a problem. The help icon doesn't direct me to any help. :-(

Thanks,

Dave

Read the links on Merge Mode in my sig, than start a new thread with "Merge" in the title if you need more help. Replies and questions get hard to follow in a general purpose thread like this. Quick answer: you have to copy the additional sources to your hard drive before starting the Merge process, then use the HDD files as Sources after the material from the DVD disc.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Hi, I am a new user and I think DVDFab is very good. Currently I mainly use DVDFab to convert movie/MTV to my IPOD Video.

Good things:
- real H.264 up to 768Kbps (others mostly only do Mpeg-4 not part10)
- can use DTS soundtrack as audio source (very unique)
- can imprint subtitle onto the video
- very user-friendly interface

Features enquiry and request:

- is my dual core CPU fully utilized for even better performance?

- auto-split the title into chapters so that i can have multiple smaller files and have them played sequentially and skipped (like viewing the original DVD) under the same "album", you know how slow IPOD responds after loaded a 1-2GB video file

- please, 160Kbps AAC audio to fully utilize my IPOD capability (currently max 128Kbps allowed)

- allow 320x180 16:9 format for encoding 16:9 anamorphic screen, so that I could have smaller file size since 16:9 picture means 320x240 with two black bars and larger file size which don't increase quality over 320x180 anyway

- auto-detect the frame rate (fps)

- i found that the converted video file have a few seconds of whitening picture and then back to normal afterwards, I have tried beta 3 also, is this a bug?

Anyway, keep up the good work! Really appreciate.

The profiles used in the conversion process can be edited manually using notepad. I added a 320x160 screen size to one for my cellphone. Framerate already has a "same as source" option in many profiles.

Can we get the memory ability for Customize mode? To remember what languages you deselected for example.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Fab is awsome software. A great feature for DVD Fab would be to auto detect when a blank disc is inserted. For example when the source is D:\ drive and the target is D:\ drive, once the movie has completed ripping to the hard drive, the original disc ejects and you have to insert a blank disc. Once the disc is ready you have to hit the OK button to start it burning. It would be nice if it would automatically detect when the blank disc is inserted and start the burning without having to hit ok. Nero has this feature.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I don't know if this has been requested or even possible but I'd like to be able to crop non anamorphic DVD discs when converting them to generic AVIs to get rid of the black bars so when I play them on a widescreen tv, they will fill up the screen. My set doesn't let me "zoom" 4:3 images when using HDMI. I fugure the non anamorphic titles don't really need to be ripped and stored as full DVDs like I do most other discs.

Thanks

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I'm afraid to report anytime that my previous feedback about Dvdfab Platinum / Hd Decrypter has not been fixed.

Installation (DvdFab Platinum)
- The license agreement is in english. To accept the license agreement the user should understand it and if he select not english language cannot understand it. Please localize the license agreement (as localizer I can help you)
- "Create desktoop icon" is not localized
- The information about software news are in english. As for the software license agreement the text should be localized.

Installation (DvdFab Hd decrypter)
- "Create desktoop icon" is not localized
- The information about software news are in english. As for the software license agreement the text should be localized.
- "Launch DvdFab Decrypter" is not localized and the program name should be DvdFab Hd Decrypter

DvdFab Platinum / Hd Decrypter (Program use)

- At first run, if a new version it's available on internet (and you select the program version check), appear a window that explain current version on pc and on internet. The "Yes"/ "No" button is not localized.

- If you re-rip a film in the same folder appear a window that display a warning about overwriting the current file. The "Yes"/ "No" button is not localized.

- All messages in the "Analysis" window are not localized. Are always in english.

I hope to see theese few problems about localization fixed as soon as possible (Are present since six months ago)

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I love the fact that DVDFab features a queue for DVD to generic conversion. I'd like to see this enhanced by adding the option to save the queue for later processing. Ideally this includes the option to "pauze" a conversion, save the queue (including the state of the current conversion) and later resume the queue where we last saved it, resuming the last conversion where we paused it.

Kind Regards

Pierreke

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

How about the obvious one: You get the tutorial page up and running? Many of the questions people have would be simply a case of "Ah ha!!!" if a quick tutorial/user guide was available on their home page. Right now, you have two choices: You get pointed over to this forum where, in the interest of not wanting to annoy anyone by asking a question which has probably been asked and answered, you trawl through multiple threads OR you send an email to their so-called support team and get no response. It's pretty frustrating.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

The feature I would request is a converter within the DVDfab program, from xvid to mp4, xvid to wav, ect. ect.... The reason for this is, when your video ipod or zune is not compatible to play the backup copy (generic) you would delete the backup copy and re convert the same video.

Second feature is to have a simple "1 click dvd copy". I know it has something similar to that, but it would be nice to have a dvd inserted and dvdfab program pulls up and you have two choices quick copy or the normal program menus.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

It would be nice if the Quailty (DVD5 or DVD9) option would be sticky or the ability to choose a quality default instead of always defaulting to DVD5 quality.

Thank You

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

You can set this option in Common Settings-->DVD to DVD. It seems to stick for all modes except Full Disc (and Clone, where the default does not apply). You can also set the default output type to be a hard disc folder instead of an optical drive. If you use Full Disc mode and always write to a HDD folder, you can set the default DVD5 size to 10000MB and always get 100% Quality whether it says DVD5 or DVD9 (this option is in Common Settings-->Write).

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Welcome to the forum. There should be some numbers in parenthesis after the 400--please post these as well, and also the region code of the disc you are trying to copy. How long does the copy process run before the error? Also please make sure you have the latest version of DVDFab.

yes this would be awesome. i myself was frustrated when i downloaded the non-css version from dvdfab.net, tried and tried but would not work. then as above my emails were not answered, figured my money was had.

i now understand as i come from the u.s. there are probably legal issues?

also since i know how to navigate this forum i can see how it is much better than any generic help file.

but for beginners it would be nice!!!
