Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Could you put in either a check box, radio button, or standard button to allow the user to toggle all the protection types on/off [at one time] for a burn or rip (in Options)? Currently the user has to manually toggle all the protection boxes individually.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

First, DVDFab Platinum is a great program, thanks.

I would like to use your software to burn video formats such as PC MPEG-4/DivX/XVID/H.264 AVI/MP4 files to dvd. Like using your DVD to Mobile options in reverse.

In the mean time could anyone suggest to me a good program for doing this. I have Nero 7 Ultra Edition but it takes forever. Most resently i converted 10 avi files to a dvd5 and it took almost 4 hours. I dont know if this is normal, however if not could someone refer me to an easy to use one or two program option for doing this.

Also sorry if this is covered in another thread, i am a fairly new member and havent gotten around to reading the entire forum as of yet.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

winavi convertor is a bit faster then Nero, & SOMETIMES does a better job on the conversion. It provides chapter stops, but it does not author menus.
http://www.winavi.com/

Also, have you tried Nero 6? I haven't tried the recent updates, but the first couple releases of Nero 7 were inferior to the next to final Nero 6 (the final Nero 6 version burning component was basically the same as 7, so I suggest using 6.6.0.18 rather then 6.6.1.4.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

- a windows native UI (or option to have this other than the forced skin used presently)

- create ISO files @ output

- sound in preview

Great program. Keeps getting better.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Make this program as easy to use or clone dvd x copy if it's possible. This program is 10x harder to use for the new guys and it's missing some key features or they are hidden very well. For example dvd x copy had an option to skip disc 1 on the read side, very helpful. Sometimes the program does not rip a certain disc perfectly and you would like to be able to rip it again or exclude some of the features and then rewrite the disc. Dvd x copy also had seamless transition into disc 2 where the video just started up. With this program the menu pops up in disc 2. Why would anyone want the dvd menu to pop up when they are trying to continue watching the film? When you try to reburn disc 2 without the menu you can't. It seems you have to read the entire disc all over again and uncheck preserve menus. Also it's a pain to new guys to have to go searching for the files to burn onto the blank dvd. Dvd x copy was so simple. Insert dvd, it reads it and when it was done it asked you to insert a blank disc. Very simple to use. This program does tons more but nothing beat the ease of use of the other program. Maybe this one can be tailored like it so it's a little easier to navigate thorugh?

There is an option in Split Mode (what I think you're commenting on) to jump straight to part 2 of the split title without going through the menu, i.e. movie begins immediately on disc 2. I find DVDFab easy to use and I would not trade one click of its options and flexibility for any more ease of use.

Sorry you are having a problem. Does the report have any error codes or other information about what happened?

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Hello, I'm still using the demo but I will probably buy it on payday.

I would like to suggest that you add the option to edit frame by frame (like DVD Shrink) so that beginning stuff can be cut out. Like the ton of different logo's and production companies. And from the end. The kids like the credits removed.

I agree and would really like to have something like the set begin and end points that you mentioned. You can often chop the credits using the Advanced Title Settings function in DVDFab; in many movies the end credits begin at a chapter break. The Preview window tracks chapters so you can see when they change. We look forward to having you join us as a DVDFab user here on the forum.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Does anyone know if the option to delegate the least compression to the main titleset was ever incorporated into the last versions? I prefer to delete the trailers and keep the rest of the extras that relate to the main movie. Sometimes there are a lot of these extras and or they take a lot of room up on the DVD5 and the quality of the main movie is seriously degraded. I realize there are other applications that can be used (such as VobBlanker) to accomplish this but I would prefer to use one application.

If it has not yet been incorporated, I would again like to suggest that it be included in a future update.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

3.30 Firmware is out and it has enhancements for videos:

Find out what features are contained in PSP system software version 3.30.

An update to the PSP system software was made available on March 28, 2007. With this update, the system software is version 3.30. Features updated in system software update 3.30 include:
.
.
.

Video

Thumbnail images of videos that are stored in the 'VIDEO' folder of Memory Stick Duo media are now supported.
The following types of files can now be played in the 'VIDEO' folder: MPEG-4 AVC(H.264) video Main Profile (AVC CABAC) files of the following sizes:
720 X 480, 352 X 480, or 480 X 272
Depending on the data type, some files cannot be played.

Here is the link:
http://uk.playstation.com/help-suppo...es-(ver-3-30)/

I already converted a movie using 3GP_Converter, using a profile of 480x272 with a bitrate de 1024 and 1500 and the quality is amazing.
Would be nice to have support the new resolutions & bitrate. DVDFab is great because it is a AllinOne package, and i think it cant be difficult add resolutions to the avc profile. I edited my XML to maximum bitrate(works ok) & new video size, i only tested 480x272(dont convert,, it starts & stops with a conversion completed message).
And we dont need the MP_ROOT folder anymore. It works with the VIDEO Folder.
PS: Sorry for my english, that´s not my primary language.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

The native iPod video format with AAC sound is fully and natively read by PocketPC with windows media player 10 (windows mobile 5 and 6).

So the label "iPod" could be "iPod and PocketPC"

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Hi all, not sure if these are possible but any help would be good???:

1. When extracting main movie or any file for backup, is it or could it be possible to have the folowing options:
a. to keep the original frame resolution.
b. fix the output bitrate (video) so final file has 175 kbps

2. An option to extract main movie to single LARGE mpeg (including mp3 audio @ 128 kbps) keeping original frame resolution so I can convert the file my self using DivX.

I'm requesting the above as both of my dvd players are DivX compatible but are very fussy when it comes to XviD files and only seam to play with the original or near to original frame resolution and a fixed video bite rate of 175 kbps (as per DivX), normally need 128 kbps audio too.

Thanks for your help,
Bye for now,
Cheers,

m4tt

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Hi m4tt and welcome to CD Freaks and the DVDFab forum! The options to do what you request (except for the .MPG file outputs) are already available on the Configure screen using the Generic profile. You can select fixed bitrate and just type in the value you want into the video bitrate box or use the slider. The audio bitrate can only be changed if you use the Xvid+MP3 profile, which you select with the drop down box near the top of the Configure screen. Hope this helps. Post again if not.

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Hi Signals, thanks for your quick reply but...

In order to create an output *.xvid (.avi ) file with a fixed video bit rate of 175 kbps (when you look at the properties tab for the finished file). I have use the "video bitrate box" and fixed it to about 1300 (1298 ish), but this does not always create a 175 kbps file (+/- 2kbps) and both of my players have trouble playing the output file.

In addition the frame resolution doesn't seam to be as source as black bars seam to be added to generate 16:9 & 4:3 res. if I could keep original this may help eg. 720x384 etc.

All the above could be wrong but any help would be greatly received,

Thanks again for all your help,
Bye for now,

M4tt

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

Sorry to hear that M4tt. My standalone doesn't support anything except DVD playback and barely that sometimes, so I have no effective way to help you experiment with this. I would suggest you keep experimenting with video bitrates and look forward to the ability to use external codecs with DVDFab's "mobile" modes. You might start a new thread with "Divx playback" in the title so that this issue doesn't get lost in the features thread and other users that might not read it otherwise will find it and offer their input.

/EDIT/ M4tt, there is another user trying to do the same thing you are that already has a thread started. here is a link:http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=216416

Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab

I am not sure if this feature is there but would it be possible to have a zune format available under the mobile selections. Maybe I missed it, but I tried the different formats under "Generic".

Thanks..
