| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab Great product, just needs one thing from my point of view: Audio only extract. Specificallly MP3 of course, although other formats such as wma may be useful also. I really hope you can add this in quickly - since you already have to encode the audio it seems like a simple thing to enable it to be saved as a seperate file. I saw the Yamb idea in the meantime, but this is very time consuming, and effectively means the audio has been encoded twice. Please? Add it to beta soon? I've bought DVDFab Platinum so I've done my bit to help it along! ![]() |

The Yamb method does not recode the audio, just extracts it from the AVI, which takes less than one minute for over an hour's worth of audio. The 256kb/s MP3s that DVDFab produces sound great. | |

| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab When converting a movie with an AC3 (Dolby Digital) 5.1 surround soundtrack to an .AVI with an MP3 soundtrack, I'd love to see that MP3 soundtrack retain the surround sound information as far as possible. That can be done with a matrix downmix into Dolby ProLogic II. Dolby ProLogic II allows a receiver to decode the left and right surround channels in a recording that is compatible with regular stereo, with only two discrete channels stored. Other DVD converting applications have this functionality, in some cases without even advertising it. It is also implemented in open source software such as AC3Filter. |

| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab Oh, and about the Dolbut ProLogic II request, I also wanted to add that this is the defacto professional way to create a soundtrack for a movie when only two channels can be stored; it is used everywhere from the optical analog soundtrack on actual theatre film copies through VHS stereo to additional language DVD soundtracks. But DVDFab only creates a flat stereo downmix (as of 3.0.8.6). If DVDFab's authors wanted to get really fancy they could also consider an option for creating Dolby Headphone surround downmixes which would be great for mobile devices. Clearly this is lower priority though. |

| Better multi-threading in DVDFab With dual-core systems common these days and quad-core systems around the corner, making DVDFab multi-threaded on the first pass on a high quality encode would help a lot. Running on a dual processor dual core Opteron system only one CPU is maxed out. The second pass seems to spread the load better, though it is still fairly asymmetric and neither the CPU nor the DVD-ROM is maxed out, not sure where the problem is there. |

| Feature request: simple menu edit Hi! It would be great if DVDFab could make simple changes to the menu of DVDs in customize mode. E.g. strip some annoying warnings or trailers, disable some buttons (e.g. when the video material has been stripped), etc. This doesn't need to be complex - just very basic functionality would be enough. Thanks! |

| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab I'm not sure if this has been suggested before. What about a progress indicator in the taskbar when minimizing DVDFab? When I'm copying discs, I minimize the program and carry on with whatever I'm busy with. Therefore an updated progress bar would be helpful as it will tell me how the process is progressing. |

| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab Feature suggestion: convert divx files with mp3 audio 112 kb/s in extension to 128 kb/s will fit some movies to cd-r source better.

| Option to change audio level on mobile file format Hi Guys :-) When I first used DVDFab, I didn't set the audio of the iPod file properly. In fact, I kept it at 100%, which didn't work well for me. Unfortunately, I didn't notice this problem till I had converted several files. So, here's a wish item for DVDFab... I wish DVDFab had an option to take a mobile file, such as a MPEG4 or H264 iPod file, and just allow the increase/decrease in the audio level without touching the quality of the video. I know this sounds like a crazy option to have, but I think it would be great when making sure the audio output of a mobile file is high enough to sound good on the iPod, etc. Later Fellas! |

| Re: Option to change audio level on mobile file format Hi Signals :-) 150% to 300% worked well. Where this comes into play is when I play my iPod through my car radio via a wireless transmitter. The transmitter doesn't recognize the volume control on the iPod. It uses a fixed audio level coming from the iPod connector. |

| Re: Feature Requests for DVDFab It would be nice if somehow DVDFab could include an option to change widescree to Pan & Scan. This can be done with RipIt4Me using PgcEdit through the "Tools" option. Nice option to have for those that might want to use it (I use it for every one and like the results).
