DVDFab / DVD Region+CSS Free Discuss, Fab Platinum 3 and DVD-RW at Copy Movie forum; Hi Everyone, Can I use RW media for the testing the different write options? If so, do I need to use packet writing to erase or will Fab ask to erase a previously used RW media? Packet writing seems to be giving me some problems. Thanks

Re: Fab Platinum 3 and DVD-RW

Sure, you can use +/- RW media to test...as a matter of fact, generally, we recommend this...cuts down on coasters ($) and frustration.
Fab should be able to rewrite the media without erasing first, although this may fail occasionally. In this instance, run the disc through something like nero - you may need to use "Full-erase rewritable disc" instead of "Quick-erase rewitable disc". In Fab, under settings, there's a box to enable/disable..."overwrite rewritable media automatically"...

I would not recommend packet writing, although to be honest, it's never given me a problem when I've tested it in Fab.

Hope this helps.
