Error: Failed! [2002,0]

DVDFab copies the whole movie but then gives me the above error message when it tries to make the Video_TS files at the end. This is only when I copy using the "Main Movie" only option.

I've tried different DVD's (ones that perviously worked) and had the same results. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program along with upgrading to the newest version. This problem first appeared a couple days ago when I had a virus and had to use a lot of programs to try to clean it up. One program seemed to reset or delete a lot of settings of many different programs and has given me a little trouble with some of the programs but reinstalling the programs always worked.

Is there a dll or something that DVDFab uses to make the IFO files that is a common file which DVDFab does not install? That is the only guess I have since I can't find any information on this error code. Please help me. Thank you in advance.

Re: Error: Failed! [2002,0]

Ah, I see. Although I don't think I'd need a CGP since they are one disc jobs, where it lists the CGP's, "DVDFAb" and "Black Screen" are missing. I checked the "DVDFab Gold" folder and in the CGP folder, both DVDFab and Black Screen files are present. So what is wrong? Why don't they show up? Thanks.

There should be a DVD_temp folder that is in root dir and there should be 2 sub folders, Video_TS that contains everything and Audio_TS whick is empty but there because some players look for it. Sometimes Gold takes awhile to get use to. I remember when I first used it. Here is a link to a good tutorial that helped me:

http://www.dvdidle.com/dvd-fab-tutorial.htm

You may have clicked on a wrong setting such as DL. Remember Gold never compresses files. I probably use Gold more that most of the Fab users, and it was hard to adjust to because you have to make choices on several screens.

Re: Error: Failed! [2002,0]

Thanks for the information but I've been using this program for almost a year and I've been doing it the same way without having any problems. The problem has something to do with CGP and one of the symptoms is that CGP "Black Screen" and "DVDFab" do not show up even though they are present on the computer in the program folder. I don't know why it is doing it but I know that when I uninstall/reinstall it, the problem is still there.

Also, the problem is the Video_TS file, not folder. I found a temporary work around, I get the error and then use DVDFab's "Tools" section and use the Create Video_TS Manager or whatever it is called, and that creates the files I need.

Hmm, I don't seem to have a burn log in the C:\ folder or in the program's folder. I couldn't find it with a hard drive search either. Is it deleted automatically or something?

Just noticed that the language drop down list in the settings menu is also messed up. There are no languages listed in the drop down menu even though the program folder shows many different language files.

Hi shutout31,

Just scanned your thread, I sure don't envy you your last few days.
I can't find my original post, but this advice has helped out a few folks...probably worth a try.
First off, are you fairly certain your sytem is clean?

>Uninstall fab completely.
>Download and run regseeker. It's free, effective and safe, as registry cleaners go.
>Reboot
>Install fab - From a new download.
>Reboot

Let us know...good luck...

Re: Error: Failed! [2002,0]

What is the name of the movie? If I have it I will try to duplicate the problem

Re: Error: Failed! [2002,0]

Fixed! Thanks a lot maineman, I should have done that in the first place, I don't know what I was thinking. The CGP and languages still don't show up but now I am able to sucessfully copy the main movie on 1 or 2 discs. And thank you for all the help bigmacnc (by the way it was not a single movie, it was with any movie).

Re: Error: Failed! [2002,0]

I just did "Fun with Dick & Jane" to a disk folder. I have a DVD_ROM drive as well as a burner, but wanted to play some with the new version. I used wizard choosing
H:\ DVD_ROM as source.

Then choose main movie and audio that I wanted, I have a folder on my HD named C:\DVD so when Gold ask for output I used browse to find C:\DVD then typed \Fun with Dick & Jane and clicked open.

C:\DVD\Fun with Dick & Jane\Disc came up clicked Go and it copied to that folder.

To burn I chose disk folder browsed to C:\DVD\Fun with Dick & Jane\Disc as source
Clicked D:\Benq 1625 writer and it started writing

I did try to burn the same way 2 other DVDs, "Last Holiday" 111 minutes and "Nanny McPhee" 98 minutes but could not copy main movie to a SL Disc. There must be some extra files in these movies, both were just a little over what would fit on a SL so I use Express to copy these 2. All 3 were on DLs

I may try one of the last 2 on a DL just to see if new version works better.

Re: Error: Failed! [2002,0]

If you are like me and just want the main movie and DVDFab says that it is 6gb or under, I suggest using DVD Shrink and doing the following:

1) Open DVD Shrink and click Open Disc and select correct drive with movie
2) After it is analyzed, right click the menu, extra features, unreferenced material, etc (everything but the movie files) and click "still image" (it helps if you download the black image on their website becuase it takes up less space)
3) Then go to the movie files and click "custom ratio", check the size of the file and then add the size of all the still image files to the movie file. it will say it's too big to fit on a disc but that is okay.
4) click back it up and let it rip
5) use nero image mount (if you have nero) to mount the iso to a virtual drive
6) open dvdfab and select the virtual drive
7) copy main movie, it will be the perfect size to fit on a disc now without any of the menus or extras still images

i only do it if the main movie is 6gb or under, this way it is only being compressed at 70% or better.
