Taken from the ImgBurn FAQ's:
Another program is currently using the drive. You need to find out what it is and shut it down!

No, it means that another program has access to your drive. You can ignore the error or track it down and kill it.

Track it down and wipe it off.

That pesky error will drive you nuts.

Just to add your using DVD-RW media that needs to be erased? Erase it and then try. Or maybe there is an option in IB to uncheck.

Hey Beef,

I had same problem. I just unchecked the 'lock volume' box in Img Burn and all is well. I could not find what was holding up the drive. I wonder if Fab is the application holding up the drive?

Re: error with 5.0.12 using imgburn

dvdfab is the software using the drive. The warning is nothing to worry about.
This warning has been there since DVDFAB has given the option of using imgburn

I've been using Imgburn with DVDFab Platinum (don't even have the VSO engine installed). I've never had that message and I do have the lock volume checked in Imgburn.

Re: error with 5.0.12 using imgburn

Well I have had it every burn since switching to imgburn. I make an average of 8 burns a day.
Think about it DVDFAB has locked the drive and that is why ingburn can not access is but burns the disk anyway.
Repeat--- the message is nothing to worry about.

You are welcome & yes the message is nothing to worry about, just annoying I guess. Personally I never autoburn, always manual, maybe I am a control freak.

Re: Error with 5.0.1.2 using Imgburn

I ditched Nero long ago in favor of ImgBurn.

I'd rather use VSO than Nero.

Re: Error with 5.0.1.2 using Imgburn

Nero became way too bloated after 6.5, that’s when I stop using it; I use Imgburn or Ashampoo 7 for all my Bunning needs. I also upgraded (if you want to call it that) to Vista so Nero was out of the picture for a wile (Nero 7 Just sucked with Vista), can’t say I miss it.
