Re: DVDIdle

The reason for the forum being down again is most likely the same reason the previous 2 times, someone trying to be a script kiddie. You'd think the person in question would have better things to do.

Re: DVDIdle

This is getting very old...

Admin, it's definitely time for additional security...recommend that you implement "Mack's Plan"; please refer to dvdidle post just subsequent to the last crash.

I agree with both. Too bad someone wastes their talent and security does need to be tightened. It also seems to happen after negative posts in DVDIdle section, or is that just my thinking. My memory is not what it use to be.

Re: DVDIdle

sorry, the real culprit is fengtao- you can't effectively operate a web business with the best site security, and evolve as necessary. The no-life hackers aren't going away!

Re: DVDIdle

I agree Larry, there needs to be more security at the site. I have made my suggestions, but none have been implemented. I know of at least 3 people that would be willing to help monitor the forum. I think requiring registration with a legit email and a validation process would solve about 90% of the problem. That would free up fengtao to update the software. The sites that I go to that require the suggested process never seem to have these problems. I know the board has some automated functions such as a verification process.

Re: DVDIdle

It's getting to the point now, that this forum problem is almost unexcuseable. You'd think there would be some kind of response to this, but NO...NOTHING. If this keeps up, those of us that are loyal DVDFab users, may not be if this crap keeps going the way it's going. It's nothing short of ridiculous. Why should we put time into this if there's no real forum security ? Hopefully there'll be a fix soon. Who knows.

I wish James would post about AnyDVD again then we may get some response. I would guess that James' business has picked up due to lack of action by fengtao.

Re: DVDIdle

yeah, but IF the Fengtao site was working, there is no time limit to edit your post- and then you two would be thinking you imagined me messing up the first time!! Then you would think your were REALLY old!!..........or actually since you are both wise, figured I caught it and changed it. Okay, useless banter, but nothing else to discuss at moment!

Yes the company is good, and with age I think we understand what people are saying even when typos and words are left out. Larry we knew the message you were trying to write. Maybe we can create an "Over the Hill Gang" of backing up DVDs.
