I got the run time error with 5.0.2.0 so I un-installed it and installed the 5.0.2.2 and it went in with no problems.

I have one question though how do I make it go to DVD-9 all the time for reading. The last version was like that.

I downloaded and installed (3rd times a charm) 5.2.2 in compatability mode for XPSP2 ( I use vista) and it accepted my new reg number. I no longer get the "failed to set data for attempt count", but I still have the problem splitting a dvd9 to dvd5's , it still won't accept the dvd sl media to copy.

It's going to read like DVD-9 all the time anyway the only way you can change it is before you burn

Mine says dvd-5 now. 5.0.2.0 was saying dvd-9 until I upgraded to 5.0.2.2

It really doesn't matter what it says 9 or 5 as that has no effect on the reading part, the reading is what the burner will read at and also how much encreption is on the disc will determine what it will read at, So myself I wouldn't even worry about it, like I said the dvd 5 or 9 is just the burning of the media

I don't understand you. Are you saying that if I insert a DVD9 disc and copy it in full disc mode and the selector is set to DVD5 and I select the hard disk as output destination, that it will not be compressed?

Maybe I misread your post Jimbo, but when you select DVD5, it does its compression while reading, it makes a big difference on what Mode is selected. When you select DVD9 it will not compress while reading. Maybe you are talking about the free decrypter, that does not compress. But there is no DVD5 option in the free decrypter if I remember correctly.

Re: DVDFab (Platinum/Gold/HD Decrypter) (Option: Mobile) 5.0.2.0 is out

I copy all my discs to the hard drive first then burn them I was just getting tired of switching it back to DVD-9 every time I put a new disc in. I use DVD shrink to burn because I like where you can compress the hell out of the extras and the menus and keep the main as uncompressed as possible.

Re: DVDFab (Platinum/Gold/HD Decrypter) (Option: Mobile) 5.0.2.0 is out

I have been enjoying the new version. It has been working well, but I started getting the "failed to set data for attemp count" again. Is there something I need to do to correct this issue?
Thanks
