Are you setting it on the bottom of the page or making it the default in the settings? (dvd to dvd)

2-Pass converting works flawless for me in the final version (3 DVDs has been Ripped for me with new version in 2-pass mode - Generic profile)

well, i was kinf of hoping that 5.0.2.0 would solve my problem and that i would be able to use DVDFab again. I got dependant on it . Luckely all of my friends that i recommended DVDFab are not experiancing the same problem.

merge mode doesnt work for me. its supposed to take 2 video_ts files or 2 iso files and combine them right? tried it twice and no luck.

Merge works on titles or chapters of titles, not files. The titles can be from multiple sources.

This version fixes the audio/video sync problem on Zathura (R1) that has been present since 4.x. I have not yet tested Ratatouille, which has been the other problematic file.

Please note that conversion of movies to Clix format still does not work when the output is not 320x240. This used to work and then was broken several releases back.

can this version do blue ray or do you need the hd decrypter?

I spoke too soon about the audio/video sync. It only functions when doing single pass. When two-pass is selected the audio is totally out of sync. Specifically, after the title sequence there is approximately 1 second of sound (the first catch of the baseball in the glove), then silence. The audio track the starts again approximately 8:46 into the movie. So the audio is 8:45 behind the video.

Now I feel dumb Like I said, I haven't used the ver 5 much and it was on the machine at the office. I just checked this machine at home and it defaults to 5. I'll check the work machine in the morning. Don't know why it changed. All the other settings I had changed carried over on new version. Thanks for opening my eyes.

for Fengtao: i want to be able to take 2 disks that i own and take whatever parts of those disks or the full disks and combine them into one to either compress and burn onto a dvd5 or burn uncompressed onto a d/l. now signals up there says "Merge works on titles or chapters of titles, not files. The titles can be from multiple sources". now im reading from his quote that dvdfab merge will not do what i want it to. im reading in the tutorial that it does. if hes right then id like it to do what i want and if im right then mine isnt working in the latest version.

basically i want a "custom merge" option

I have tried un-installing and reinstalling from the dvdfab.com website and when I sent off for my new registration key from the last version I bought it says it must restart. After it restarts it still says I'm in trial mode. What do I need to do?

If you are using the registration key from ver 4 it is no good on ver 5, you must send off for a new key to unlock ver 5

That is the one I would have got in the email right? I got that from clicking the link below the registration button. My email says it is for 5

the 2nd pass never really works no matter what settings i choose. I only use ipod and generic. It always has some error and shuts down and i have a bad quality movie. Why is this....

You can use Merge mode to combine anything that appears in the DVDFab Title list window from up to 64 different Sources. You cannot just tell it to take all the files in two VIDEO_TS folders and merge them together. Please see the Merge Mode Guide in the tutorial (it is also linked in my sig).

I have a question. I accidentally downloaded the mobile option only program(non css). I then downloadead the full program. Does the full program download overwrite the first download? I don't want to have any unnecessary files if I don't need them.

Yes, they are overwritten.

No, just reinstall the correct version over what you have and enter you key, it should be no problem.

What version is the correct version I have 5.0.2.0?

Is it possible that you had an earlier version installed on a different drive than the one you are installing this version on? If so I had to go to the original drive it was installed on and find User/Your Name/App Data/Local/DVDFab and delete the folder and than install and click on the key for version 5.

Probably an easier way (in Vista) would be to uninsall DVDFab from the Control panel, Restart, click on Start Icon, search for DVDFab and delete the folder that is found.

Reinstall DVDfab, Double click the version 5 key and hopefully this will solve all your problems. The one gotcha is after the program restarts the screen telling you that you have a trail version may still be visible, just close it and you should not see it again.

I cannot guarantee this all will work for you, but it has worked for several friends.

Did this work for everyone? I tried it for the first time last night, and it created the DVDID.XML file fine, but VMC didnt update anything. I had to go to the big site that holds thousands of these and downloaded theirs, it then worked immediately. I tested it on Good Luck Chuck.

couldve sworn i said that i had already read the merge guide in the tutorial. also could have sworn that i said i had followed the instructions and it wouldnt work for me. what bothers me is that the picture on the left hand side of the software shows 2 disks being combined into one. 2 entire disks combining together to make one. period. i shouldnt have to read into tutorials even though i did on this one. if dvdfab cannot take 2 disks or 2 video_ts files and combine them into one then please change the picture on the left hand side to something else. or make it so that it can combine them.

I only have one hard drive. I still have version 4 installed on the same drive. You saying that I need to delete all of the dvdfab programs and reinstall 5?

In the cases I was talking about version 4 was installed originally on C drive, Uninstalled, but the folder in App Data was not removed before installing version 5 to the D drive. The 5 version would not take the new license until the DVDFab folder in App Data on the C drive was removed after uninstalling DVDFab4.

I cannot say you should uninstall version 4 and it's App data before installing version 5 because than you could possibly wind up with nothing working, but if you have both versions available either from a back up or download it might be worth a try. I am no expert but the solution I described worked with 2 drives with the problem you described. Guess you could honestly say that I am just covering my rear end if it does not work for you.
