| Re: DVDfab platinum express mode Thanks, I can rip any disk with the free version so guess I will stick with that. What I miss is shrink compressing and then burning in one shot so thought this would cure that. I have Gold also which I have been succesful in ripping a disk with that but I dont want 2 disks, Im fine with some compression and one disk. I do have a DL drive packaged away for when this burner (pioneer 107d) craps out on me but like you said the disks are rather spendy still. |

| Re: DVDfab platinum express mode You can probably use DVD Shrink with the free version. A lot depends on the original DVD as they are sometimes compressed. You may have posted before I added the link to my last post that provides a lot of info on different DVDs including what type of disc the original is on and looks like that series has several editions on a combo of DL & SL disc. DL is too high when I can get TYs for $.25 each delivered. Mack

| Re: DVDfab platinum express mode Seem to receive DVD 1 error on discs with strange copy protection (i.e. Flightplan and Sony's Legend of Zorro). For some reason Gold seems to do a better job of decrypting than Platinum Express. Also have this problem if I use DVD Fab Decrypter first and select decrypted files in hard disk folder as source with Platinum Express. Was able to copy and split disc successfully with Gold, and was able to use DVD Fab Decrypter and DVD Shrink 3.2 to make a movie only copy. |
