Re: dvdfab platinum 3.0.8 upgrade -> nothing works

Compelling evidence, I agree. See if you're not lucky that way.

However, I'm not in control of my NAS' file system, so still in the soup.

Hm! Should have thought about this sooner: I updated the LinkStation firmware, and presto Error=500 is entirely gone.

Sorry to have wasted your time.

Re: dvdfab platinum 3.0.8 upgrade -> nothing works

Hey people.
First time user and I'm glad I found this thread.

I too was getting the Error 500

I have a Thecus N5200 NAS where I'm storing all of my DVD backups.
It's file system is RAW and I don't think I can change that.

Changing the target to my local HDD did provide a workaround but I'm wondering if there will be a fix for this.

Not being able to write directly to the file server is a little counter productive with how I want to work things.

Thanks.

Re: dvdfab platinum 3.0.8 upgrade -> nothing works

Well, I cannot burn with DVDFab, either. I just burn to an ISO (on usb drive) and then I use ImgBurn to burn the image to DVD. This seems to be the only way at this time, even after upgrading to DVDFab 4.

I'm not burning either. Just converting to ISO to store on the network.

I can create the ISO on a local HDD and have to copy over to my NAS.
it works it's just more steps.

Re: dvdfab platinum 3.0.8 upgrade -> nothing works

Is there a way to take existing DVD movie data from a folder and write an ISO file without copying it to the DVDFab temp?

The temp copy makes the conversion time double basically.

Use ImgBurn's build function to create an ISO from an existing VIDEO_TS folder.

Re: dvdfab platinum 3.0.8 upgrade -> nothing works

Well as long as ImgBurn creates ISO's the same way that DVDFab does.
I'm using DCDFab because it makes ISO's that are compatible with my Zensonic Z500 media player.

I would usually use AnyDVD to make my ISO's but the player wouldn't play them.
