Re: DVDfab HDDecrypter in Linux

I have changed the directory that it installs the .ISO into, but I can't change anything in the settings screen to change what it uses as a temp directory. From what I can tell, it pulls everything off of the disc and puts it into a temp, then finishes processing. Then after you click the finish button, it copies it over to the target .iso. It is a pain, but I will have to move my DVD drive to my desktop out of my mythfrontend to do my ripping... or put a larger drive in the mythbox if I can't figure out how to change the temp directory it uses.

@69cougar have you tried ripping in file mode instead of creating an ISO image?

Re: DVDfab HDDecrypter in Linux

When I click on the settings I can't change anything, I can't even access anything on the menu.

Do you know if it is in an .ini file that I can edit and change?

Re: DVDfab HDDecrypter in Linux

@69cougar on Ubuntu and Debian I am able to change the settings by using the up and down arrow keys with the mouse, using the mouse will not work by itself. As for an INI.FILE i have not found one anywhere on my system. You should be able to change the rip target just by clicking the folder next to the drop down box.

Re: DVDfab HDDecrypter in Linux

I will see if I can change stuff with the keyboard, since the mouse does not work correctly.

I have changed the directory that it stores the .iso file in, but it uses a temp directory to process everything. It does not move the .iso file to the .iso directory, until after you click the finished button.

I forgot to add, Nice car (what I can see) is it yours?

@69cougar instead of creating an ISO image have you tried ripping in File Mode?

Re: DVDfab HDDecrypter in Linux

Thought I'd give it another try with the latest DVDFab 4 in openSUSE 10.2 with Wine 0.9.53. The green pixelation issue that I had with drives other than my Sony - see page 2 of this thread - appears to be gone. I ripped with two different Lite-On's, one SATA and one USB. And it's not because nothing's accessing the disc before DVDFab, since I actually open the disc in Konqueror with autorun to get my drives recognized at all by DVDFab.

Re: DVDfab HDDecrypter in Linux

exactly - new version is using a reduced amount of .dlls - can't see solution yet

edit: tried prefacing with WINEDEBUG=-all wine <path to rb> - to turn off debugging - no joy though could be useful to increase performance with working apps

Re: DVDfab HDDecrypter in Linux

I just posted to an old thread over at Doom9 about this issue.

DVD Rebuilder & CCE under Wine
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=120107

Then I found this thread

DVD-RB 1.27.1 keeps crashing after doing its work
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=134982

It seems the last 2 releases of Rebuilder have been a little buggy, hopefully Jdobbs will get this sorted.

Re: DVDfab HDDecrypter in Linux

Have you noticed that now all Fab products have Linux as a supported OS?
This is great.

Check the download page for DVDFab.

Re: DVDfab HDDecrypter in Linux

Has anyone been able to get Version 5.0.0.0 working on Linux with Wine?

I can not get it to open without errors and it will not open any discs encrypted or not!

At least Ripit4Me still works!

Re: DVDfab HDDecrypter in Linux

I have to give Fengtao credit for the effort he puts in to DVDFab as it is the only updated ripper that will run on Linux. Slysoft seems to have no interest in getting a Linux compatible AnyDVD.

Re: DVDfab HDDecrypter in Linux

While HDDecrypter 5.0.2.0 works fine, the full version of DVDFab Platinum 5.0.2.0 fails to load the registration key after accepting it in the registration dialog and restarting.

The thread is here : http://club.cdfreaks.com/f116/dvdfab-linux-244331/

A bug has been logged on the WINE bugzilla.

Re: DVDfab HDDecrypter in Linux

Windows 98 has the same issue with registration so this is not just a problem with WINE.
My workaround is to wipe my DVDFab wine directory every 30 days and then reinstall:
rm -r -f ~/.wine-dvdfab
wineprefixcreate ~/.wine-dvdfab
env WINEPREFIX="~/.wine-dvdfab/" ddvdfab.exe
