Hey guys,

I appreciate everything but the main problem is during the copying process and not during the writing process. i even had to do a system restore thinking that would help and it has not. it still hangs when there is 19 seconds left on the copy process, task 1/2. Then the whole computer freezes even if I leave it alone for a couple of hours??

What gives on that notion
Since this is a ripping problem and DVDFab Decrypter worked for you and DVDFab Platinum did not, we should start by looking for some simple answers since I am pretty sure that the two programs share very similar, if not identical, ripping code.

I would start by reviewing the settings in DVDFab Decrypter with those in DVDFab Platinum (only those related to ripping) and find out what is different. Open both applications at the same time (remove any DVD's first) and then open both the settings dialogs (it's the small icon to the left of the question mark). Set the dialogs next to each other so you can easily compare the settings. Since it's just a ripping problem, you should only need to check "General", "DVD->Read" and "DVD->Protection". It could be something as simple as the destination for the temp buffer so make sure you note all differences no matter how minor.

Let us know what you find out. If the two applications are using temp buffers on different hard drives, then run Chkdsk on the drive that DVDFab Platinum is using. By the way, how much free space do you have on that drive?

Thanks - D

Re: DVDfab constant crash

Hey everyone THank you so much for all your input, you giys have been great.

Now i've tried everything that you guys asked of me and more. I downloaded dvdfab platinum beta, i stopped all running processes in the background, and GUESS WHAT it worked.
"ONE TIME ONLY - the second time it failed once again at 19 seconds remaining on the copy process"

BUt dvdfab decrypter works fine, i can use the copy process on that no problem.

??????????????????????
running out of options.

Remember the folder that DVDFab Decrypter copied the movie to, then open Platinum and choose that folder as the source, If you get error Not DVD Folder you will need to to try a upper or sub that folder is in, then choose burner as Target, and click on Write Data.

DVD Decrypter saves the movies in the same folder as Platinum under administrator documents & Settings browse to find the correct link \DVDFab\decrypter\(full disc or main movie)\name_of_movie that will have 2 sub folders under it \Video_TS and \Audio_TS. you want to choose \name_of_movie as source folder. I had to do this on 1 or 2 movies.

Re: DVDfab constant crash

I'm sorry for sending out so much bad vibes, but i don't seem to understand or the computer is wrong.

I can put in a single layer dvd into my lite-on dvd writer and using dvdfab 3.0.9.6 burn a copy but when i try to copy a dual layer dvd it hangs...

i've uninstalled and re-installed the software, i've even change the writing speed also but that doesn't seem to be doing anything good. and especially now that i have the latest version and everything is already payed for, i can't get anything to work. ANY ONE OUT THERE HAVE ANY IDEA"S???????????

Re: DVDfab constant crash

Hi Abyssalsoul,

I've been read this thread, and when something like this happens to me, the first thing I try is to run the program in another computer (if you don't have another one, ask a friend). And try with a legal DVD, not a copy.

I've been using DVDFab Decrypter for some time and for me is the best. Sometimes there are new protections, but Fengtao is very fast in putting out a new version.

Sorry you are still having problems. Please give us the model of your DVD burner, and if possible, post the burn log file for oneor two of the failed DL burns. The log files are located (usually) in folder C:\Documents and Settings\ your username \My Documents\DVDFab\Log in a file named dvdfab_burn_vso.log. Just copy some of the failed sessions and paste them into a reply post.

Abyssalsoul , i'd suggest you'd be a little more original with your avatar instead of copying mine ...
