DVDFab backups work in computer but not in stand alones.

Not sure what is going on I just updated to version 3.1.4.0 from the previous version I had which worked great.

Problem I am having is I will back-up a dvd movie and when I stick it into a stand-alone it says "no disc" does not matter what stand-alone I put it into to.

If I put it into any of the 3 computers I have it starts up just like the original.

The only thing I have changed on under the common settings is the booktype to DVD.

The type of DVDs I am using are Verbatim and out of the same stack I have never had an issue with until now after downloading the newer version of the DVDFab.

Does anyone know what might be going on? Would like to get this up and going as soon as possible before my kids ruin their new DVD's before I can back them up.

Thanks in advance for any tips or advice....

Re: DVDFab backups work in computer but not in stand alones.

Try a DVD5 disc. That will narrow the problem down if that works.

Re: DVDFab backups work in computer but not in stand alones.

I already know the movie is to large to fit onto a 4.7gb (DVD5) disc...So not sure if what this would prove.

Re: DVDFab backups work in computer but not in stand alones.

Ok what is strange is I have an older Brooksonic TV w/vcr/dvd combo and it works fine in that unit but not on the stand alone Pioneer. Which I have backed up 50 or more dvds which have all worked fine with the pioneer as well as the other in home stand-alones. So not really sure what is going on now...

Re: DVDFab backups work in computer but not in stand alones.

If the only thing you have changed is the Booktype, than I would try changing it back. Changing the booktype is to make it more compatable and it seems to have not done that.

Re: DVDFab backups work in computer but not in stand alones.

I understand what you are saying here but at the same time I have always used booktype set to DVD-rom, as also the first burn I did I did not have the booktype set to this as I forgot to change it over and still did not work...

Re: DVDFab backups work in computer but not in stand alones.

DVDfab will not booktype with my Samsung drive. Maybe you have the same problem. Put your finished disc into Nero CD-DVD Speed and verify that the booktype is indeed set to DVD-ROM in the "Info" tab. If it's not, then you will have to do what I do and set the booktype on each blank disc manually with CD-DVD Speed right before you hit the "OK" button on DVDfab to start the burning process.
