Do you mean in DVD to Mobile?

I have lots of experimental profiles around. Let me see what I can find tomorrow.

Re: DVDFab 5.0.0.0 Beta Discussion Thread

I can’t use DVDFab HD Decrypter with my LG GGW-H20L. It momentry reads the disk and then nothing; it just says insert DVD Disk or select source. I can’t even get it to open full Blu Ray/ HD Movies I have ripped to Hard Drive with Slysoft HD Ripper. Obviously I don’t run Slysofy ANYDvd whist I run DVDFab HD Decrypter 5.0.0.0.
Is DVDFab HD Decrypter not compatible with the LG GGW-H20L?
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Yeah I am. HD Version is for Blu Ray or HD. I use Platinum DVD Fab for normal DVDs.

Re: DVDFab 5.0.0.0 Beta Discussion Thread

Is something different with the iPod DVD-Mobile conversion when comparing 4.1.2.0 with 5.0 Beta?

I tried No Country For Old Men and have no problem with ver 4.1.2.0, speed being just a hair better than 60 fps, and doing 2 pass encoding with the profile for IPod 5.5. But .... with version 5 beta, it not only moves along slower at just below 50 fps, I also show 3 tasks rather than 2 tasks as previous version do. I also thought it strange that when I selected iPod on the left in the menu, I got a choice of both generic and iPod in the right - not something that the previous version did.

As an aside, I have never had audio synch issues with iPod conversion.

You have to select ipod before putting the disk in or selecting an HDD folder or you'll get both in a batch. That's why you have two tasks.

Sorry, no luck with this within DVDFab. Maybe Ting can add the m4V wrapper.

Re: DVDFab 5.0.0.0 Beta Discussion Thread

Hey guys,

I have been using DvDFab for a couple years now and it is the best $50 I ever spent. I don't even get pissed off when a disk does not back-up . . . I just sit on it for a week or so and it will be fixed.

Anyway, I may be a retard but I have a question:

I have two widescreen TV's and it seems that even if I back-up a widescreen disk that I get gray boxes on the sides of the movie . . . it is in the correct ratio just much smaller than the screen.

Is this my TV settings, DvDFab settings? I have to stretch it to fit al the way to the sides and it distorts the image a bit . . . I never thought to check it on a original disk as I back-up the disc first thing and put it away.

I am probably putting this on the wrong thread, you can move it if you want . . .

Thanks guys.

Hey all. So far, so good with the new Beta. I'm backing up Charlie Wilson's War right now and it working flawlessly. I'm using full disk mode with PP enabled and remove RPG'S and skip to first chapter. Also, love the new look. Thank you Fengtao and Co. ~ Mike

I ripped Alien Vs. Predator (2004) R1 with DVD Decrypter. No problems. I tried with Fab Plat. 5 Beta. No luck. It just kept scanning and scanning. I then tried with Fab Plat 4.1.2.0. No problems.

I suspect this is more of a PathPlayer issue, but I'm not sure why your AVP disc won't analyze with 5.0.0.0...at least eventually.
Here's what I found on my AVP (2004) disc:

Platinum 5.0.0.0 with PP, analyze time = about 45 seconds
Platinum 5.0.0.0 without PP = less than 5 seconds

Platinum 4.1.2.0 exactly the same times as above with and without PP, respectively.

I guess this begs the question, did you have PP enabled on both v.4.xxx and v.5.xxx ?
and how long did you let it scan before getting fed up and canceling?
Honestly, the 45 seconds really did seem like forever to me.

Both are set to Enable PathPlayer when necessary.
After 5 min. I switched to Fab 4.

Re: DVDFab 5.0.0.0 Beta Discussion Thread

Well, I'm back from doing Charlie Wilson's War and it was done without a hitch. It was a little slow on the rip, approx. 21 min., but it also had 58% compression too. It then copied with no problem. I then put it in my player and there wasn't any trouble. I say this because I saw a thread or two concerning this movie and people having trouble with it. BTW with PP enabled it only took maybe 10 or 15 sec. to scan. ~ Mike

What's "UDF Reader?"

Do you mean Adaptec's UDF Reader driver?

I'm unable to do any conversions, ie., Ipod or Generic at anything resembling a decent speed.
Much like the problem we saw in XBox a couple of months ago, I find that no matter how I configure the conversion, the fps progressively slows until eventually the time to convert is unreasonable.

This occurs with Ipod.h264 1 or 2 pass and generic.avi.h264.audiocopy, again 1 or 2 pass.
Usually, I convert from a source already ripped to the hdd, although I've tried a disc as source, both original and bkup as well.
Consistently, the fps progressively falls.

Unlike dond123, v.4.1.2.0 works flawlessly for me. (I think he meant to say he's still using 4.1.0.2).
Are conversions working well with 5.0.0.0 for others?

Anyway, here are my default settings for Ipod conversions
(like I said, I've played around with various configurations and devices, nothing seems to affect the fps degradation).

maineman,

I feel like an idiot for asking this, but how do you get to the page you attached to your post, Convert Settings? I've been clicking around all over the place and I can't seem to find a page like that. (I'm sorry is this is a painfully obvious question.) I'm still trying to find a way to rip to my iPod using DVD Fab 5.0, but so far no luck.

Re: DVDFab 5.0.0.0 Beta Discussion Thread

To anyone else who has been having trouble using Fab Plat 5.0 to rip dvd's to an iPod Touch: I finally managed to solve the problem, thanks to maineman and his settings.

(And I apologize to folks who might think this is obvious. But I noticed other people in the forum were having this trouble and I figured this might help.)

At the top of the Convert Settings page, there are two drop-down boxes. Click open the one to the right and you'll see a list of types of iPod devices. Chances are, yours will be pre-set to generic, like mine was. Just set it to iPod Touch, then click on Set as Default, and it should work.

It seems so simple now, but honestly, I had no idea the Convert Settings page even existed before tonight. (I'm not too proud to admit that.)

Anyway, I hope this might be able to help anyone who was having the same problem I was.

Hi dond123,

I just got back in and see you figured it out...
Thanks for posting the info. Don't apologize for stating the obvious...we've all been stuck at the obvious, at one time or another.

Glad you're up and running.
