You can download it and try it for 30 days for free. See how you like it, then buy it if you do. Post in the forum if you have questions or need help.

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

I'm in a very screwed position now, and can't seem to get anywhere with someone, so i'm posting here since it's 5.0 related somewhat.
Something got badly messed up with my djdafreund account('No access to this page" messages no matter what i select), which is why i was forced(told) to create a new one (djdafreund111), i can't get anyone to fix that account, and i don't have access to my original (the one on file with djdafreund account) e-mail account anymore to receive key, and i can't use the 'Use this link to lookup Order #' as the links are down/dead, so i can't get anywhere.
I would kindly and REALLY appreciate it if a moderator could reach me to get this FINALLY resolved. Past few times i get nothing but automated messages pointing to a link for further help, which doesn't get me anywhere..

PLEASE HELP ME!?!???????

Don’t know why it’s locked, but I’m using DVD Fab 5.0 right now and it’s working just fine for me…..

Thank's for the update, Fengtao and Ting!

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

I'm not sure why Fengtao chose to do the release this way, but there is a thread for v5.0.0.0 discussion if you scroll down in the regular forum threads.

Customize is now a 2-page mode, you have to click Next to get to the menu options.

This was Fengtaos decision. That is why a V5.0.0.0 Discussion thread was made. You can post anything here that you might have posted there, as long as it refers to the new beta or differences between the new and the older versions. Feel free to ask anything you like about here.

See the Tutorial. A new Customize page was just added. You have to click Next to get to those options now.

Does anyone know the discount on DVDFab? The website mentions a discount. I got a friend of mine interested in possibly purchasing it.

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

cylderbw, did you read the top part of the page? it says "we offer a discount of $10-$30." in any case the price was originally $79.99 and after the discount it ends up being $49.99 which is the list price on it now,so you will end up paying that.

I see. So the price is already discounted. Thanks bamahusker.

Oh btw, this latest version does not produce valid files for Clix playback. Was working in the last version.

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

I am trying to find out how to batch rip dvd's to AVI's using dvdfab 4.1.2.0 platinum

Back in 4.0.0.8 beta thread, Fengtao suggested ripping the dvd's to hdd first, then adding the rips to the dvdfab queue so you could leave it running overnight.

Is anyone able to clarify if this is possible?

Is it best to use Fab to do the initial rip? if so what sort of output file is best? iso?

Once the files are on the HDD- I guess I just select GENERIC, point dvdfab at the first one, enter my codec, passes etc configuration and then just before hitting START, click back and add another file?

I read somewhere that there is a 5 file limitation (6 was causing someone errors) is that still the case under 4.1.2.0?

Great software & thanks for your help.

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

See the capture. Just keep clicking any of the three Source buttons to add new items to the task list. Performance can be unpredictable if you change formats for different tasks (e.g. Xvid on task 1, H264 on task 2). In the capture, it shows jobs from 2 optical drives and one HDD folder on the list. I use IFO/VOB folders usually, ripped with DVDFab (why use anything else?). The example is v5 but v4 worked the same way.

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

Observation when cloning a disc with DVDfab

The cloning feature is by far the most reliable way I have found to backup a Dual Layer DVD. However if you happen to get a dodgy write or the blank is a duffer and you need to re-record the disc from the ISO you get the following error message, this occurs before burning even starts and nothing is written to the disc:

"Can not open file [PATH]\.ISO.VTS-03-0.IFO" - the VTS file name can vary I think

I have investigated giving the ISO and INI file a name and modding the INI file internally with the same name but each time the same error is returned. I have found one other thread from February that mentions this amongst other errors, certainly with previous versions re-writing from the image has not been an issue and even if name detail is added to the files it's not been an issue. Does anyone know whether this has been addressed in the 5 Beta?

The previous thread suggests maybe a corrupt ISO - this is however not the answer because it has happened too many times on different files. Can I ask fentagao to have a look at this since it's reliably repeatable and I would have thought it would be too difficult to correct. Anyone happen to know whether the image would be re-burnable with ImgBurn? Will ImgBurn read the Layer Break INI?

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

Hi Gristy,

The last time I burned to DL, I first ripped whole disc to a folder using Fab decrypter. I did not burn to ISO. I then used Fab platinum to burn full disc sending to dvd9 with the Img Burn engine instead of VSO. Flawless!! The only thing is Img Burn will stop and ask you to pick the layer break. It lists the best chapters to do this on and you pick one and go!. Not quite sure why it doesn't just pick for you but it worked great.

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

I love the latest version but have just one problem. When I convert a movie (27 dresses) to IPOD (Nano) the Itunes program will not recognize it? I converted the same movie with Fleximage Converter and it went into ITunes and the Ipod without a hitch. Has anyone else has this problem? Previous versions of DVDFAB have worked fine? I used the basic default Ipod settings.
