Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

You are correct on the fingerprints & scratches as being possible issues for read errors. BUT, as stated in my original post I haven't been able to use FabDVD since ver 4055 AND other software can read the DVD's with NO problems.. I must click ignore 10 times just to get to 5% when copying. That's why I suspect there is/was a conflict with other software I have/had installed at one point since I was using ver 4055 back in Jan. ALSO, as stated in my original post, I did the clean uninstall thing. I was reading around in the group to see if others had the same issue as me and I saw that.
I really suspect Convert2DVD or CloneDVD (.net) 4.0 is what did it. I even tried to restore my registry after a clean uninstall back to a time before I installed these programs. But, for some reason Windows would run through all the motions only to come up telling me it was unsucessful.
Any ideas?
Thankx!!

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

Since you use it flawlessly on 2 other computers, it is an issue with the computer that it doesn't work on. Not the DVDFab software. Although I haven't had the same problems with DVDFab....I've had similar issues like what your having with system restore. I have to boot computer completely into safe-mode using the administrator profile. then run system restore from there. This has worked for me in the past.

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

I just tried to boot in safemode as directed and I get the same result. It goes through the motions and can't complete restore. I even tried a different restore point to shoot for instead of the one just before when the suspected issue started.
I don't think it's the FabDVD software that's the issue. I just think it's with some other software I tried out. It was working just great on this computer until March 4th.
Thankx for the reply tho! Anything else you can think of to try?

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

Thank you for this release. DVDfab is a great software

I wonder if it is possible to have a better advanced title settings.

In DVDshrink it is possible to cut a movie with precision (ex: 1h02m12frame). In DVDfab, it's only possible to cut on a chapter.

Do you think you can improve the advanced title settings?

Another question, is it possible to open subtitles (.srt, .sub for exemple) in DVDfab platinum (Nero Recode can do it). That could be great.

Thanks

As why would they call it HD!

I've looked on the forum for an explanation but the search facility is doesn't work too well.

Has anyone got a Blu Ray or HD drive working with DVDFab HD Decrypter? and if so which model?

Thanks

I also had read error problems. I fixed it by setting the I/O mode to SPTI instead of auto.

Hope this helps you to.

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

I have noticed on some downloads for versions it say avangate. What is that supposed to mean?

Also Fengtao, During Chinese New Year I heard on the television is the Year of ----------, (----------- means no sound or could not interpret what was said)
So my question is , It is the year of what?

Also, thank you very much for the updates and continued effort that you and ting do.

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

Have you ever considered having a wizard feature so that DVDFab jumps directly into DVD Shrink and then burn with either NERO or ImgBurn. That would be very interesting and nice to have added.

DVDFab already does compression so you don't need DVD Srink,...If you want to use Nero burning rom or ImgBurn to do the burn just select which burn engine you want to use in common settings

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

did anything changed in VSO burning engine with this version ?

since the update I just can't burn with it.
I did 7/7 toast with it today already.
All error = 116 after like 20% to 40%.
burning is fine from nero though.
something looks seriously screwed with VSO burning in this version (never had a single problem before!)
I tried reinstalling without any succes.

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

Ben, thanks for the advice in changing the I/O setting to SPTI. I now have another question. How do I get FabDVD to find the DVD then? When I browse to the DVD it says no disc in drive "G".
Regards!

Yes, that would be a fantastic feature. I'm converting my old home (VHS) movies to DVD and it would be great if I could cut exactly to the minute / second rather than the chapter. But that would be a nice to have, not a must have improvement.

well Going Greek as explained earlier in my last post does in fact work on Fab Decrypter. I hope you'll update Fab so it'll work on Curb Your Enthusaism Season 6. Thanks.

DVDFab 4.1.2.0 PROBLEMS!!!

Great for the update however, as you all know on the ipod classic,

at a movie for 16:9 would = 640X 352 pixels,

however on dvdfab version 4.1.2.0 it gives you option of 640X342 instead which is different

at a movioe for 4:3 would = 640 x 480 or 320 x 240
again does not give 640 x 480 at all and gives 320 x 230 or something similar

reverting back to version 4.0.6.2 which is slightly older, has all the correct pixels and resolutions

therefore there needs to b an update ont his new one!

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

The size depends on the cropping and a lot of movies are not exactly composed. Fab seems to drop out any black banding and the calculations seem correct to me.

A lot of 16:9 movies have aspect ratios of 1:1.35 & 1:1.240

Have alook at the actual crop to prove my point.

Re: DVDFab 4.1.2.0 is out

KUDOs on this and the last version- using Clone again & it worked flawlessly on my setup copying "Love in the Time of Cholera" and "Sweeney Todd" (Tim Burton's version) Granted I was using Verbs DL +R MIS 8x (only have one disk left, yikes!). They played great on my LG570dvd player. So thank you for all the updates ( I can't keep up with them) and the effort and dedication you have made to your product. :bow
Thanks again.
