i take this to mean that dvdfab it self will work with out the need to have wmp installed. however:

Thanks, I'll try it tomorrow on "Shoot Em UP", It brought up a crash report tonight with 4.o.2.5. with pathplayer enabled, With pathplayer disabled it loaded but didn't have movie listed.

I get an eror when installing the siftware that AVCODEC.DLL is corrupt.

I have downloaded the file 3 times and re-booted windows (Vista Ultimate x64).

Still won't let me install.

any ideas?

Try disablling the "UAC" in Vista and try again.

Crash when ripping Rush Hour 3
Hi all,
Any one try to rip Rush Hour 3 ? with this new version - it crash everytime on me

I just ripped Rush Hour 3 (movie only, R1) with 4.0.3.0 DVDFab (free version) and no problems at all. Used DVD Shrink after the rip, also with no problems. If DVD Shrink opens and processes, I know it's a clean rip.

Kudos to the authors, keep up the good work.

Ok this version is giving me problems. Opening up an image file that has no protection it scans the image a total of 3 times before it's ready to burn. The prior release version did not do this and would only open the file one time and I could burn it. Why is this version going through the opening of the DVD 3 times?

Secondly the lock issue is still here I have tried turning off verify but it did not help. I still have to exit DVDFab completely to delete the image file I have burned. THIS really needs FIXING! The file should not remain locked after being burned it NEEDS to release the file.. It's really getting tiresome exiting and restarting the program between burns EVERY SINGLE TIME!

However, I noticed that I had received two different files. The corrupt file came from the link in this message from fengtao. It had the filename "DVDFabPlatinum4030_avangate-689.exe"

I tried to DL that one again and it still said the AVCODEC.DLL was corrupt.

But when I went the dvdfab main page and downloaed from there, I got the file: DVDFabPlatinum4030.exe and that worked.

Maybe there's something really wrong the the first file....

It works fine without it you just can't do some of the Mobile conversions. You need WMP 11 to get the codecs used in it to save as some of the Mobile file types as far as I can tell.

No there is nothing wrong with the file, its the new settings in the forum, they have to be tweaked, I believe this is fixed already, I am sorry this happened. Its got nothing to do with Fengtaos file. Again please accept my apologies.

I am finding that having PathPlayer enabled in 4.0.3.0 is causing problems reading DVD discs created with my Toshiba RD-XS35 DVD recorder. This did not happen with 4.0.1.2.

DVDFab reports fake vts for every title so nothing can be copied using the Full Disc copy. The information for the disc looks like this:

Info for drive [F:\] (DVDFab Platinum 4.0.3.0)
Drive region: 1

Disc type: Video DVD
Disc region: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
Volume name: RDXS35STC
Video standard: NTSC

CSS (Content Scramble System) protection is not found.
RC (Region Code) protection is not found.
RCE (Region Code Enhancement) protection is not found.
APS (Analog Protection System) protection is not found.
UOPs (User Operation Prohobitions) protection is not found.

Invalid PGCs protection is not found.
Invalid CELLs protection is not found.
Invalid VOBUs protection is not found.
Fake vts 1 is removed!
Fake vts 2 is removed!
Fake vts 3 is removed!
Fake vts 4 is removed!
Fake vts 5 is removed!
5 fake vts protections are removed!
Bad sector protection is not found!
Structure protection (ARccOS, RipGuard, etc.) is removed!

PathPlayer is enabled!
Unplayable cell (vts:1 title pgc:1 cell:1) is removed!
Unplayable cell (vts:2 title pgc:1 cell:1) is removed!
Unplayable cell (vts:3 title pgc:1 cell:1) is removed!

I have disabled PathPlayer for now and it works fine. Is this a bug with the way the Toshiba creates the DVD or is PathPlayer a bit too aggressive? The discs of course plays fine on several DVD players I have.

DVDfab 4.0.3.0. doesn't work with "Pirates of the Caribbean at Worlds End". It invokes Pathplayer and just hangs when you try to back it up. Go back to 4.0.2.5 beta and Pathplayer is not invoked and it backs up just fine

Hi all,
i did found today a solution, how to install all WMP11 dlls without WMP11. This little file called wmp11dist.exe. It's free and from Microsoft. This installation allows you to use all WMP11/WMV/WMA futures with the old WMP10.

Great thing, because i hate the WMP11. I will never use it...

I'm having a problem with Lost Season 3. The previous versions worked ok, with 4.0.3.0 I get the following:
