Re: DVDFab 3 error codes list

Hello all, I am currently using dvdfab platinum 3.something or other, the newest one lol, on trial time. (How wonderful that you can try before you buy!) I have been unable to successfully copy any movie so far though. I open the program, and use "full disc" to copy and get "Task_2 failed! Error=105" on every movie I have tried so far. Is there a way around this, or a way to fix this? I am not totally computer illiterate, but I'm not all that computer savvy either. I'm stumped :/

Re: DVDFab 3 error codes list

"Task 2" is the burn part of the copy process, so if that error showed up during Task 2, it would mean that the files are too big to fit on a SL disc. It would help diagnose the problem if you could post a burn log from one of these failures. Directions for doing this are linked in my sig.

So sorry this post is so long.. looking at the log what you said is correct, that the file size is too big for the disc. There is an option in the program (which I'm sure you know about you seem very smart) for DVD 9 (100% quality) or DVD5 (70something% quality)
I haven't tried it on DVD5, would that make any difference, and is the quality difference noticible? or is it possible to break the movie into two discs? Two discs would be inconvenient but if thats what I have to do with these discs until we buy more thats what I can do. Which is best? Thank you SO very much for your help, you are awesome! and THANK YOU for the quick reply as well.

Yes use dvd-5 you can not fit 5.68 GB on a single layer disc(dvd-R)
At 70% you will not notice any quality difference even on a pretty big screen.
And yes you could put it on 2 disks but not worth it IMHO.
Edit: your burner will burn DL disk, they cost more(use only verbatum)then you can use DVD-9(no compression)

Re: DVDFab 3 error codes list

Any time that's what we are here for. I the future it is better to start a new thread for a new problem(get quicker and better responses)just do not post the same thing twice in different places. Hope this is not confusing.

Re: DVDFab 3 error codes list

Your're welcome Mina. It looks from the logs that you had the DVD5/DVD9 selector set to DVD9 (100% Quality, no compression) but had a DVD5-size disc in the burner or you may have been using Write Data mode. If you have a plain DVD-R or DVD+R you must set the selector to DVD5. DVDFab will then compress the material to fit on the disc. The Quality number you reported (70+%) should look fine on all but the largest TVs (but a higher number would always be better). Try using Main Movie or Customize mode, they will take out all the extras and previews and make the Quality number higher. If you use Customize, remove the checks from all the audio tracks except the top one unless it says dts; if it does, uncheck it and check the one below it. And yes, you can split the movie onto 2 discs and get 100% Quality (Split mode) but I am not a big fan of interruptions in a movie. You should get some DVD+R DL blanks for the long movies (but they are expensive). For best results, most users here use Verbatim DL (DVD9) blanks.

Have error code Error 400 (invalid AdaptionIdentifier). Any way to avoid this. Found on Shameless Series 4 and Skins Series 1.

Re: DVDFab 3 error codes list

I got a rather cryptic "Write Error" message (don't remember the exact syntax). After some investigation I finally figured out that the hard disk I was writing too didn't have enough space left to copy the DVD onto. Seems like this kind of situation should be given a more specific, helpful message!

The drive was from a mapped network share. On the Win 2K server, the drive is mounted to a folder.

Suggestions:
Please follow the suggestions and answer the questions we asked in your thread:
http://club.cdfreaks.com/f116/hi-eve...8/#post2053604
Your answers will help us to try to isolate the cause(s) and in turn, help you. I see that you weren't able to fire up nero, but have you tried it with a blank disc as I suggested. Also the burn logs will be very helpful. Please refer to your original thread.

Thanks
