Re: DVDFab 3 error codes list

The biggest prob. I have is having to unistall the UltraDMA on my Sony DVD drive after "succesfully" burning a disc. Once I go through that process, all of a sudden the blank disc magically becomes a movie title and is playable. It would be nice to not have to uninstall/reboot every time, but it works.
The error 400 is actuallly the first time I've seen an error dialog box in about 20 or so attempts, so I figure it was the movie disc. I'll try again and get more info. I think you guys are doing pretty damned good work!!

Re: DVDFab 3 error codes list

downloaded DVDFab Gold V.3.0.8.0: trying to copy Shakespeare in Love to H/D using LG read/writer. For either Full Disk or Main Movie I get (almost immediately after Start) the 'Reading/Writing Error Control' panel: choosing Retry or Ignore moves the process along, until the next interruption; Abort generates the task failed message coded 400(15.3.VTS_04_1 VOB #####).

I get the same result when using the software in an attempt to copy a non-commercial DVD.

My DVD read/writer is working normally, as far as I know . . .

Your thoughts shall be appreciated.

Re: DVDFab 3 error codes list

Alright, I've read through this forum and have'nt really heard much of the 116 error code. I've received it 3 times in a row now, only after copying 3 other discs perfectly. Using the same media, Verbatim DVD+R DL 8X. It seems to copy the dvd (using Full Disc), but after only a few seconds of trying to burn to my blank disc, this error pops up. Any ideas? I thought it could be the media, but why would the first 3 disc work and the rest not? Or maybe I should try a different copy method ie: Main Movie or something like that?

Welcome to the forum. The log you posted is a burn log, the error you are getting is a transcoder error, which happens before the burn process starts. See if there are any entries in the logfile with "event" in the name and post those if there are any. It sounds like the original disc has errors.

Error 116 is a burn error. Please open the burn error log with Notepad and copy the text for one or two of the failed burns and post it here. I use the same blank media (at 2.4 or 4X) with no problems. If you are trying to burn a DL at 8X your burner may not support that speed.

Both of these error logs indicate that the burn failed while trying to write the leadin, which is unusual . Have you tried burning a SL disc since this problem started? You already have the latest firmware for that drive, so nothing to be gained there. Sure sounds like a hardware problem with the drive. (Dust, laser, etc.) I had a HP 640e and never could get it to burn DLs consistantly. You might try increasing speed to 4X, or try burning with Nero if you have it installed (you can select this in Common Settings-->Write").

Re: DVDFab 3 error codes list

I tried to burn a CD-R, worked fine. DVD+R SL, worked fine. Tried to do another DVD+R DL, no luck. So could it just be these discs or is it my burner?

I think I would try another brand of blank DL before thinking about replacing the drive, and also try Nero if possible. I wound up having to replace my 640e with a Liteon, but I gave the 640e to my son who says it works fine on his machine.

That's great! I think the firmware for the 640 may not support the 8X type blanks. Hope it works out OK. If you plan to keep the drive you might want to stock up on the 2.4X blanks. They will eventually disappear ffrom the stores.

Please check your version number. The latest version is 3.1.0.5 beta. Download the latest from the link here in the forum and try again.

Not sure, but the updates often fix things that are not in the release notes, but are problems Fengtao and Ting have picked up here in the forum . Try it and if you still have a problem, start a new thread that describes the problem. It's hard to follow questions and responses in this thread and someone else who has already solved the problem may see the new thread immediately.

Re: DVDFab 3 error codes list

Error 400 = a general transcoding error, really non-specific.
What sort of problems are you having?...the more details, the better for us to try to nail down a solution, also you could start by going to page 1 of this thread and start there and you might find a answer to your problem and BTW welcome to the forum

Re: DVDFab 3 error codes list

Hi solspolaris,

Please send us all the .IFO files on Original disc, then we will check the problem.

A recommended way is listed below:
1) Open an Explorer window, and navigate to VIDEO_TS folder of the DVD.
2) Copy all files ending with .IFO to hard disk.
3) ZIP the IFO files on hard disk to one file. Name it with a readable filename, like Stealth_UK.zip.
4) Send the zip file to fengtao(at)dvdidle.com, you need replace (at) with @.

Best Regards,
Fengtao

Re: DVDFab 3 error codes list

I'm getting Task 2 failed error 500.
It happens when it's time to make the ISO.
Is there any suggestions as to what I can do to fix this/ What might be causing the problem?
I've gotten this on a few DVD's now. Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2. I just set this machine up to burn & haven't had a success in it yet.

I've got a two good burns now using DVD Shrink, so I know the hardware is working right. Any suggestions on why DVDFab won't work?
