DVDFab / DVD Region+CSS Free Discuss, DVDFab 3.1.4.0 is out at Copy Movie forum; Workaround: Leave the default Output Size at DVD5 and set the default DVD5 size to 10000 MB. I had to do this when I Merged the Schindler's List flipper disc to avoid compression. Just remember to set it back when writing to SL media. (I didn't ).

Re: DVDFab 3.1.4.0 is out

If you never burn VOB files to SL DVD you can leave the DVD5 setting at the point I suggested and never reset it. This will have no impact on the MPEG-4 conversions you mention and give you exactly the functionality you are seeking until changes can be made to the program.

The bad thing about putting things to default......... i never use default settings.

Fab Platinum does so many things that i doubt anyone uses default settings. I don't.

Thanks again for the new release Fengtao

@jsmiddleton4 and maineman: I asked you and others to get back on topic with no more rude or sarcastic comments. Now you made me repeat myself twice.

And to everyone else: Please don't join the argument.

This particular argument stops here. There will be no further warnings.

There are two buttons on the Configure screen: Fixed bitrate and Fixed File size. Both may not be available on all profiles, depending on the target device and codec in use for encoding. Both are available in the generic.avi.xvid.audiocopy and MP3 profiles.

Re: DVDFab 3.1.4.0 is out

You will have to excuse me, I am new to all this.

I have been using DVDFab HD Decrypter for some time now, never failed me. I just bought the Platinum version of DVDFab last night and went to back up one of my movies, now I am getting a message saying the DVD is CSS protected and this version of DVDFab will not back it up. I never had any trouble with the freeware version, why does the one you pay for do this? I am running DVDFab Platinum Ver. 3.1.4.0

Yes, my friend it is. I don't use the option very often. My cellphone does not work well with VBR files.

Hi Stryk911,

That's right, you should be all set.
If you have any problems, just post back. Someone is usually around...

Re: DVDFab 3.1.4.0 is out

I'm having some problems with this version:

1) I'd been having too many burn failures so I switched to Nero as the default, but on either "recommended" or 8X as the selected burn option, Nero still plugs ahead at 20X and has made a few coasters. So I switched back to DVD FAb's burn engine and the problem below started happening:
2) I'm getting a "no media inserted" error even though I have a blank disc of the correct size inserted and "my computer" recognizes it as a disc that can be burned. If I just burn the disc by exiting DVDFAB and launching Nero it burns fine.

I"m running on Vista Home

So Nero seems to burn the files correctly if not launched within DVDFAB, but either burn program option within DVDFAB is giving me headaches. Suggestions? Explanations?

Re: DVDFab 3.1.4.0 is out

A Big THANK YOU to both of you for the latest version on DVD Fab Platinum. I almost can't keep up with the updtaes- which I do really appreciate by the way. Had zero problems making Clone mode back ups of season 1 & season 2 of the cult TV series "Sledge Hammer". When I used Verbs +RDL 8x the entire process per dvd was just under 1/2 hour, now granted there was a total of 8 dvds, but it really worked easily & well. I had just enough time to between dvds to do a bit of housework-ugh!
Thanks again for a product that exceeds my expectations. Next project the entire "Horatio Hornblower series"
for Arachne- love the new look!

Re: DVDFab 3.1.4.0 is out

Great software, love it. I have however been having a small prob with 3.1.4.0. It rips fine but when the burn gets to about 3 minutes remaining it starts burning slower and slower. when it finishes (and excuse my lack of terminology) the dvd has definitive "burn rings" where as before (previos version of fab) it was a good solid burn to the end. The dvd seems to play fine I just didnt know if this is the start of a problem or if it is maybe my burner which by the way is a sony dru-820a. thanks for any help
