i receive slower burns with dvdfab platinum in general as compared to dvd decrypter. but has really never been a problem because i really like all the other features.

Benhad, we have tested 3.1.1.3 Beta and 3.1.2.6, the speed is same, and since we don't change the A/V decoder/encoder part, there should be no problem. You can try "Reset DMA" in "Settings" to see if speed can be normal again. Also, who is "Dos Pesos", what he/she said about "update in 36 hours"?

hybridsrock, thuan98, have you inserted new HD-DVD like Matrix 2, 3 into your drive? If so, your drive is revoked, so that DVDFab cannot work anymore. We are working on a new update, please wait.

Yes, the issue showed up after i tried to play matrix 2/3 hd-dvd. Will the update simply allow dvd fab to work for the old movies again, or will it also enable to rip the new movies (like matrix 2/3) ?

It will work for both new and old movies.

While some are reporting a slowdown on ripping a dvd to a dvd file, I am not experiencing such. What I am experiencing is a slowdown when converting DVD to Mobile (PVP) whether I do such directly from a dvd or from a dvd file on the hard drive.
I have upgraded to 3.1.2.6 and I am still experiencing the same issue. I also "reset the DMA" with no success.
When converting a dvd file to Mobile (PVP) to be used on my Zen Vision W, it takes twice as to long to convert the files as compared to the previous version of DVD Platinum that I was using, specifically version 3.1.1.3 beta.
Please note that the settings were kept exactly the same as with the previous version. Version 3.1.1.3 beta was converting the dvd file at an average rate speed of 32-36 fps. Version 3.1.2.6 is converting the file at an average rate speed of 16-18 fps. Are there other settings that I should be looking at to correct the slowdown?? Thanks again for the great product.

I'm afraid to report anytime that my previous feedback about Dvdfab Platinum / Hd Decrypter has not been fixed.

Installation (DvdFab Platinum)
- The license agreement is in english. To accept the license agreement the user should understand it and if he select not english language cannot understand it. Please localize the license agreement (as localizer I can help you)
- "Create desktoop icon" is not localized
- The information about software news are in english. As for the software license agreement the text should be localized.

Installation (DvdFab Hd decrypter)
- "Create desktoop icon" is not localized

- "Launch DvdFab Decrypter" is not localized and the program name should be DvdFab Hd Decrypter

DvdFab Platinum / Hd Decrypter (Program use)

- At first run, if a new version it's available on internet (and you select the program version check), appear a window that explain current version on pc and on internet. The "Yes"/ "No" button is not localized.

- If you re-rip a film in the same folder appear a window that display a warning about overwriting the current file. The "Yes"/ "No" button is not localized.

- All messages in the "Analysis" window are not localized. Are always in english.

I hope to see theese few problems about localization fixed as soon as possible (Are present since six months ago)

No slowdown here on MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 modes. In fact the Xvid encoder seems to be running faster, from 48-53 fps before to around 65 fps now (only 2 conversions tried so far).

Thanks for your input. I only wish I could attain the speeds you reported. It makes no sense that the DVD FAB software on my pc is running so slow. I have not added any new software that would conflict. In addition, the slowdown is only occurring when converting dvd file/disc to Mobile (PVP). Thanks again for your input.

Hope this doesn't sound too stupid but does this program need a burn program like Nero to work?

I have Nero 7 Elements which came with my Pioneer burner and I have Nero Ultra Editon 7 but after hearing about all the bugs in these programs do not want to use them.

Hope someone can guide me.

3.1.2.6 still doesn't work for backup of HD-DVD for me either. Everything was working fine until I installed 3.1.1.6 and ever since HD-DVD backup has been toast. My inquiry to DVDFab CSS had some intial followup, but it's been crickets on this issue for a while now...

If the problem isn't resolved before my trial of AnyDVD (my temporary solution) runs out, DVDFab will have lost a customer. I sincerely hope the problem is resolved, as I prefer DVDFab HD Decrypter (when it worked). But if I need to make a purchase, of course I'm going to buy a working solution vs a non-working solution...

DVDFAB Platinum 3 has a VSO burning engine and does not need Nero but does give the option of using Nero burn engine if you want to.

While nero works just fine within Fab, VSO is the default burn engine and superior to nero IMO.
I doubt you'll have issues, but just pop in and ask for help if you do or for that matter, just to shoot the breeze... .

While checking out site of FabDVD to purchase the program...see that you do not receive a disk for installation but instead have to download the program. I have a few computers that I use including a laptop, downloading will allow only one computer to have this program...not sure what would happen if download does not go through properly or computer has to be crashed which has happened to me over the years. Not sure how I feel about purchasing a program and then...not being able to use it in all my computers. Any thoughts?

While I have used Nero for years, I think by putting a blank disc in a microwave for 10 seconds might produce better a better burn than the Nero 7.x.x Suite. It has been very disappointing.

While I own DVDFab Platinum, I still do most of my burning these days with ImgBurn.
