I bet its resolved in the next version. I have never seen an .ifo that large.

What OS are you using?...XP?, Vista?

Anyone else having trouble backing up Apocalypto? Specifically to iPod format.

Haven't tried yet.
What sort of problem are you having?

All working fine until 2 days ago - my PC using XP home edition

First off, I think you should ask one of the mods, like alan1476, to move this and start a new thread. You should get a better response. I'm afraid your problem will get buried here.

Have you made any changes to your system, installs? uninstalls?, etc., in the last 2 days or has this just seemed to occur spontaneously?

Do your optical drives work ok outside of Fab?

Yes, my add-on XBOX360 works fine, can play HD DVD using PowerDVD 7.3 Ultra.
No changes/install happen to my PC during this time

I try to move my add-on XBOX to other 2 PCs I have in house - exact samething happen

Note: Samthing happen to me when I first use DVDFab HD, and out of the blue - it worked!

DVDFab Platinum still doesnt read dvd title correct, e. g. the real title is "Sherlock_Holmes", Fab produces "Sherlock Holmes". I reported this bug at an older version (dont know which one) and still present

Your not alone. I have the same problem. This morning I successfully backed up and HD-DVD with version 3.1.1.2. When I brought up the DVDFab HD, it suggested I visit the website for 3.1.1.6. I installed, rebooted, and ever since I have not been able to rip HD-DVDs. It reads the volume label, the progress bar moves and completes, but there's no option to continue. I only have DVD9 and DVD5 as an option and HD-DVD drive [E:] doesn't appear in the drop down list.

I reinstalled 3.1.1.2 and now it doesn't work either! So I go to more drastic measures. I went to a system restore point from yesterday. Still no luck! I get the same behavior. It makes no sense. I can't decrypt HD-DVDs at all now since installing 3.1.1.6. I'm pulling my hair out.

Thanks! Yep, it worked just fine this morning. I had succesfully backed up several HD-DVDs. I was backing up the HD version of the Matrix 1, when I downloaded 3.1.1.6. The Matrix 1 was successfully copied to my HDD.

Five minutes later, after reboot, 3.1.1.6 I could not backup the next movie in the boxed set. I uninstalled went back to 3.1.1.2 to no avail. Even going back to system restore from yesterday didn't work.

I can read the disc just fine and have successfully file copied the encrypted files to the hard drive without running DVDFab Decrypter.

I'm baffled, but all was fine until I upgraded to 3.1.1.6. The only other interesting tidbit I can think of is that I had backed-up my 5th HD-DVD. That seems like a nice round number...

HD-DVD Matrix 2 and 3 come with newer version of AACS, and DVDFab doesn't support it for now.

That's good to know, but that's not the problem. I can't backup any HD-DVDs in my collection, not even the ones that I have previously backed up sucessfully with DVDFab.

BTW - I've ruled out hardware and Windows, as I am able to backup sucessfully with a competing product. I would prefer to stay with DVDFab, so I'm hoping we can figure this out. Is there any other information I can give you? Any error logs squirelled away, registry entries, etc?

I backed up my copy of letters from iwo jima no problem, but can't get apocalypto nor epic movie to back up ... it seems to do fine all the way to the part where I burn the disk and it pops up a disk read error every time. I checked all my settings and they seem fine. Any suggestions?

I was able to back up all three of those with no problem using dvdfab platinum 3.1.1.6, what program are you using and what brand of media, also the burn log would help

If you are getting a read error then it is before the burn starts. Is there an error code?

I ripped the "Letters From Iwo Jima" with 3.1.1.2 and see the problem, then I upgrade to 3.1.1.6 - nothing better
Then roll back, then system restore - not help
I try my old titles that successfully done before - not anymore !!!

I'll wait for next version to see if this issue goes away

I am in the same boat - I cannot backup any DVD's, previous backups included. I updated this morning and tried to backup The Last King of Scotland and it has burned three disks in a row that are unreadable by any three of my DVD players.

Does anyone else have issues with DVDFAB 3.1.1.6 not recognizing double-layer disks when attempting to burn?...I'm experiencing this problem with "various" double-layer disks...DVDFAB repeatedly read DL as single layer and spits DL disks out...using Nero 7...

DVDFab 3.1.1.6 - WinXP - HP Laptop Pavillion zv5000 - AMD64 processor @ 1.8GHz - 1GB RAM - NEC internal DVD Burner and Sony USB DL DVD Burner. This is the first time I have ever experienced this problem, happened immediately after my upgrade this morning.

EDIT - restoring back to 3.0.9.8 made everything work again!

You might try looking at your setting in 3.0.9.8 and then see if they change when you upgrade to the new version 3.1.1.6, thats the only thing that I can think of unless you got a corrupt file somehow when you d/l the latest version
