Hi,
Mode I use is DVD to Mobile - Generic. However problem seems to apply to which ever mode I use.

Nothing is shown in 1st window (the 3 "boxes" are empty) and cannot move to 2nd wizard screen (Next is inoperative). Will have to check on DTS option.

No errors are reported - tried on 3 different PC's now. Back rev to 3.0.4.0 and all is ok on all PC's

The analyse progress box is there for a while (5 secs or so I would guess) except analysis seems to be cached after 1st try unless I remove DVD.

Sorry justinh, but I cannot duplicate the problem you are seeing. When I either 1) put in a DVD, let it analyze, then select "Generic", all windows populate just as they should and immediately. Same if I read from a hard disk folder as "Source". What happens when you put in a DVD and select "Customize" in the upper menu? Do the windows populate?

Hi Everyone,

I noticed the latest version of DVD FAb lets you create ISO files. Why would I want to do that? Is it for burning with other programs?

Yes you are right. An ISO file is a duplicate of the original disk. Same as cloning. Besides having the option to burn with other burning engines you can also use other software for editing etc.

Hi rog,

Yep, you certainly could do that. For eg., you could burn with Img without having to convert the files to .ISO, although I know Img recently has stretched its muscles with its "build" mode. We've had the functionality to burn to .ISO with Fab for awhile, at least in part, even with Gold v.2.xxx, but now we have improved ability for bidirectional function, ie., rip in .ISO or burn from a previously ripped .ISO file, plus there's substantially more configurability overall.

Hit the submit button to fast. I wanted to say those 'honey - do' lists can be very long.

Holy Crap! I DL'd the newest version of ImgBurn at work last week for a quick burn of an ISO. Didn't even see the BUILD! Niiiiiice.
Icy LikeS!

Thank you Fengtao and Lighting UK. Nice work, I'm going to have to quit being a cheapskate and send you both some money.

Yeah, they sure are long...
One benefit, I guess, is that they're sooooo damn long, some of the stuff just plain "expires" or no one can remember why the hell we were "supposed to do it" in the first place...

So true...
I really think it's great when we have multiple replies. Everyone (for the most part anyway) is trying to offer or receive help, or both. We all add something to the topic and everyone benefits. Sometimes it's just new info and sometimes it's approaching a problem in a different or unique fashion. I can't count the number of times I've said to myself,"...I never thought of that...

Re: ISOs

They are big honkin' files, not like "llittle" 1GB VOBs. Makes a difference in some situations/machines/software. Hello to all.

Re: DVDFab 3.0.5.0 is out

I haven't used these, but I've read positive stuff about UltraISO:
http://www.download.com/UltraISO-Pre...-10177302.html
and also,
MagicISO:
http://www.magiciso.com/

I know UltraISO is available on a trial basis, ? same for MagicISO

Hopefully, someone who's familiar with the process can provide some better advice, maybe an app for free.

DVD Shrink will edit them. Just open shrink, click on open disc image. Then do what you want and hit back-up. You will end up with normal vob video files.

Re: DVDFab 3.0.5.0 is out

Not so much a complant, but a question....?
What happened to the live burn speed display in 3.050?
I find average burn speed in log (would be nice to also show max burn speed), but it is no longer displayed while the burn is actually being made.
Otherwise I am very pleased with this version.

I don't miss it. Frankly, I question the usefulness of displaying this information. I'm wandering if this was actually creating some problems with the program and it was wisely removed from this version. Just a thought. I'm still doing perfect back ups in every mode with this version. There's an old saying; "if it aint broken don't fix it". I say no more.

Re: DVDFab 3.0.5.0 is out

Purchased the newest version of DVDFAb paid good money for this new product. My purchase was based on the advertisement stating that " this is ALL you need to ack up your DVD..." Finished installing, followed directions...
Firs time use and I get this message
" Failled to initialize the burning engine... if you jus installed the product, please restart the PC to se the results, (which i did twice so far with no result) or reinstal the product (which I also did with no result)"

No logs are produced, I dont have any other burning software (due to the fact that this is supposed to be a stand alone software) I run Windows XP SP2...

any suggestions???

Re: Bought DVDFab Platinum 3.0.5.0. "Disc has CSS protection - Platinum cannot copy"

Hi,

Purchased DVDFab Platinium 3.0.5.0 yesterday and installed it this morning. I've used the "Gold" trial version for three days and had no problems doing "Full Disc".

Now, this morning with the newly installed "Platinum" version 3.0.5.0, registration code and all, I tried to copy the first DVD.

Inserted DVD into drive and get the message "DVDFab Platinium - The disc contains CSS protection. This version of DVDFab Platinium cannot copy it. For more information, please contact with css@dvdfab.net."

Am I doing something wrong?
What does "with this version of DVDFab Platinium..." mean?
Isn't 3.0.5.0 the latest version?
BTW, the disk I was trying to copy is disc three of "The Simpsons - The Complete First Season - Collector's Edition"
