Just downloaded DVDFab (free version). Tried burning Full Disc and Main Movie. The disk/paper icon to the right of the area you browse to show where you want to save the file shows that the program will create an ISO file.

When I finish both times the files are AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS files. Is that correct? I'm not sure how to browse and open the file to start the dvd with these files.

Are there pros and cons over these two ways to rip the DVD.

Also, anyone have experience with Plat. version producing files for the iPod.

The two files are correct. Audio ts will be empty and Video ts will have the move in it.
Open the video file and click on the vts o1 1 and the move should start.

Or right click on the vts 01 1 and click on open with..........

There are several threads dealing with DVDFAB and iPod

If you have WinDVD you can double click on the VIDEO_TS.IFO file and the whole movie will play. You can also select "Play Movie from folder" and just open the VIDEO_TS folder and it will play. If you want to skip the menus and play just the movie, double click on the IFO file for the VOB set that contains the main title (usually the largest one).
