DVD Region+CSS Free - copy question Hello there. I am new to adding a thread to a forum. Please bare with me. I have several 'non-US region' DVDs at home and would like to burn them onto a DVD with the US region so I can watch them on my home DVD player attached to my TV. I found the DVD Region+CSS Free web site and prior to purchasing the software, I wanted to get a warm and fuzzy that it will let me do that. Will it? Hopefully ![]()

Re: DVD Region+CSS Free - copy question Welcome to the forum ![]() A simple solution is to get dvd decrypter (free), rip these discs on your HDD making them region free, and then burn a copy on a regular DVD. If you don't want to use DL discs, you can use a software like dvd shrink (also free) to remove unwanted stuff and/or compress the movie to fit on a single layer disc. Both dvd decrypter and dvd shrink are not more updated, and it's possible that are not able to work on some recent titles. In this case, you need some more updated tools like anydvd and clonedvd2

Re: DVD Region+CSS Free - copy question Thanks for the info geno888. I actually have tried DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. I must be doing something wrong with those. I check the region free check box before I begin to copy, but once the new DVD is burned, it won't play in my 'US' DVD player...that's why I thought the DVD Region+CSS Free software would help...

Re: DVD Region+CSS Free - copy question Most of times this problem is due to a low quality disc. Another frequent cause, and I think that is your problem, is that you are trying to play a PAL movie in a player able to read only NTSC movies. In this case, you must also convert PAL into NTSC, a rather time consuming procedure. If you have many of these conversions to do, the easier way is to buy a player able to read both PAL and NTSC discs.

Re: DVD Region+CSS Free - copy question That makes sense...I have one of those too, but wanted to be able to give US region PAL DVDs to family members so they could enjoy the foreign language films too...oh well...these region free DVD players aren't too much...maybe worthwhile to invest in a couple of those instead. Thanks for your quick and helpful reply.
