DVD to PSP - "Unsupported Data" Message

Hello All,

I purchased DVDFAB Platinum recently. Am trying to copy a DVD to my PSP using the DVD to Mobile (PSP) option. The file creates just fine and plays on my PC just fine in QuickTime. I copy the created directory to the PSP using the "USB Connection" function on the PSP and place it in the Video directory already located on the PSP. When I try to watch the video on the PSP, I get this message, "Unsupported Data". I've tried lots of different options in DVDFab, but always the same result. Please help.

Thanks.

Try copying just the two files created to the "VIDEO" directory on the PSP. You don't need to copy the entire directory, at least I don't and the movies play fine.

Tried that. Same result, Unsupported Data Type message.

The two files are named MAQ0004 and one is a MPEG-4 movie and the other is a THM file. These were created using the default settings on DVDFAB.

The ones I make are M4V00001 which is one more "0" than yours. Mine won't play the MAQxxxxx files either? I'm gonna have to work on this!

Select you source and target, click next.
Click the configure button. Use the drop down menu next to the device.
Set up like below, you can name the file the same name as the movie.
You can play around with Bitrates until you get what you want, bottom line they will play.

Re: DVD to PSP - "Unsupported Data" Message

Cool!! I found the configuration that makes M4V0000X filenames. It is psp.mpeg4. Once I selected this option in the config menu and set it as the default, DVDFab created a file my PSP can play. I just copied the M4V0000X files to the subdirectory I had I have created under the VIDEO directory on the PSP. Subdirectory name is the name of the video or DVD you are watching.

Thanks.

Sure thing, glad you're going. When you get a chance try the configuration I've shown, especially the frame resolution of 720X480, I think you'll like it.

Tried your set-up. Worked fine, but video image did not fill up the screen. Like the higher 124 bit sound quality though. Am going to try the next lower video resolution next because it is a 1.76:1 aspect ratio, which should fill up the PSP screen.

If you used the setup in the picture all you need do is zoom the display up to full screen. The image quality will stay very sharp. This is by far the best image quality setup.

Re: DVD to PSP - "Unsupported Data" Message

Is ZOOM SCREEN a command under the triangle menu when the video is playing?

Yeah basically, "Screen Mode" is actually what you need to find, looks like a box on the top row, and keep pressing "X" until the screen fills out.
