Re: DVD FAB Products Discussion Thread

yeah Tim for 20 bucks plus shipping it's a heck of a deal. Now you will have a 1640 and a 1655. You will need to crossflash the Plex 740A to a 1640 but it's easy. I'll point you to what to do when you get it if you want.

Afternoon here now Tim

Right. You can put the firmware in the same folder also but not necessary. Read posts 7,8,and 9 on in this link > http://club.cdfreaks.com/f92/benq-how-flasher-171380/

I haven't used Vi$ta to flash my BenQ's yet so you might want to do it with your XP machine. Also zebadee talks about flashing in safe mode but i never have so that part is up to you. They say safe mode is safer.

I have BSLB on my 1640 right now. BSRB is the newest. I mainly use my BenQ's for ripping and scanning so the f/w is not that important to me. BSRB has improved DL burning. Again firmware is up to you.

I'm not sure what firmware i'll put on this new one yet.

OK my friend
BTW....My Vista rig is SATA, no IDE connection so the new BenQ will be going on the XP rig.

One more Q....after flashing the drive I don't need to use the flasher anymore to update the firmware do I

Nope you can just use "B" 1640 firmware .exe flashers after that
