DVDFab / DVD Region+CSS Free Discuss, dvd fab does not have high quality compress video with adaptive error compensation at Copy Movie forum; normally i use dvd decrypter with shrink...dvd shrink has a option that has "high quality compress video with adaptive error compensation"and "deep anayisis",i do not see that in dvd fab platinum when making a iso image or direct dvd to dvd....does dvd

dvd fab does not have high quality compress video with adaptive error compensation

normally i use dvd decrypter with shrink...dvd shrink has a option that has "high quality compress video with adaptive error compensation"and "deep anayisis",i do not see that in dvd fab platinum when making a iso image or direct dvd to dvd....does dvd fab have its own compressing engine and it is as good as shrink?

Yes, platinum (gold also) has it's own compressor. The quality of any "compressed-domain" transcoding with Fab is outstanding. IMO, it's at least as good or better than shrink and I'm a long time lover of shrink.
Certainly, you'll get a variety of opinions on this and you'll want to judge for yourself.
I'd recommend that you download platinum and give the free 30 day trial a whirl and see what you think. My bet is that you'll be pleasantly surprised with the quality, ease of use and wide range of features.

do i have to set or choose the compressed-domain or does it do it automatically? thanks

DVDFab sets the proper transcoding automatically so that the original dual-layer disk content fills the backup single-layer disk completely. In other words, it always transcodes at the highest quality level that will fit on the backup DVD.
