DVD Fab Cracking CSS protection

Hi all,
So I had a lot of fun yesterday and spent the entire day learning about, trying, and testing this DVD ripping thing. (Recent PSP purchase prompted it and I actually do want to back up my DVDs and watch them on the plane using my PSP). I considered this part one - getting a good ripper - I haven’t even gotten into compression programs yet (although it looks like dvd fab can do that too) So I read a billion threads in here, but still must ask.

It would seem that DVD fab platinum is the “all in one” program I am looking for and would gladly pay the fee, but it doesn’t seem to be able to get over the latest protection software? Both “madagasgar” and “Harold and Kumar” did not burn using the download from the website: 3.0.5 trial version?

It says "this DVD has CSS protection and cannot be copied by DVD Fab"

I found another program that I thought was the same thing because it has the same name without the DVDFAB in front of it, (which for a while totally confused me because it had a later revision version) this works no problem, but this seems not as friendly as the DVDfab interface and I don’t want to give up yet!

By the way I am using a IBM thinkpad T43 win 2000, 1.73 Ghz Pentium M, and its taking 1 hour to burn CDs.

Welcome to the forum. You have downloaded the non-decrypting version (not your fault, lots of people do it, long story). Download here instead. Be aware others have experienced audio sync issues with this latest beta (in MPEG-4 Mobile modes only) which I'm sure will be addressed in the next. Re: long burning times--did you mean CDs or DVDs? Make sure DMA is enabled for all your drives. Defrag like they used to vote in Chicago: early and often. Here is a link to a post by my friend maineman . Look in his sig for links with info on checking/fixing DMA. I'm not aware of any DVD software that is updated for new protection schemes as often as DVDFab. There is no trial version, only a trial period (30 days). The download link above is full-featured.
Post back if you have problems.

Thanks, i will try and post a follow up. My DMA is ok, the 1 hour time was for DVD.

Thakns for the welcome, once i get into step 2: compression so i can fit stuff onto DVD-Rs and PSP, I am sure more questions wil come up.

Thats the one i originally did download. Thats the one that is outdated. i tried 3.0.5.1 and it works to decryt the DVD, but will not transfer to the PSP. Everytime i try to do it it brings up an error screen asking for my email address.

Re: DVD Fab Cracking CSS protection

it worked to burn the disc. It also seems to convert files to the psp files no problem. But they wont play! strange thing is that i cant tell any difference between these mpeg 4s and others. they just say unreadable format in the psp.
