hi i switched to a new computer with vista took a suggestion and switched to dvdfab platinum instead of using shrink and dvd fab i really like the program but im haveing a problem when its all done i put in my cheepo dvd player it works fine when i put it in my upconvert it wont play says bad disk or says its a jpeg and wont play im thinking its a setting i need to change

glad you like the program, me too. so the dvds work in your dvd player but not in your upconvert. if read where users have trouble playing backups in top of line players such as your DVD to HDTV player. also some players will not work with region free disc.

maybe in dvdfab common settings uncheck the remove region code and uncheck remove region code enhancement.

hello i tried the steps recomended by the other member they did not work so i downloaded dvdfab platinum on my old laptop made a backup copy of the same disc and it worked fine on all players i think it must be a setting on my computer sometimes instead of saying bad disk the jpeg veiwer comes up but doesnt work is it possible my burner records it as jpeg instead if so how do i change it any help will be greatly appreciated this is a great place for information i really like it thanks in advance

What media are you using? Try Verbatims and burn with ImgBurn at a speed no greater than 8x. Also make sure your burners firmware is up to date.

rigt now im using maxell they work fine with my other computer thanks for the suggestion ill try updating my drivers do you feel verbatums work better ive backed up many copies of my personal dvds never had a problem till i got this new one thank you for the advice very much appreciated

Definitely. Go to your DVD burners website to find the latest firmware.

I checked for new drivers for my dvd burner and it checked said they were up to date i took one of the copied discs put it in my old computer opened it with dvd shrink and got a cylindrical redundancy error not sure if that helps but im starting to grasp at straws here I guess newer isnt better in this case

just writing a thank you to those who tried to help the problem was caused by a bad dvd rom drive on the computer
