DEP is turned on anyway you look at it, you only need to add a program that is being stopped by DEP as long as you know the program.
It is a great feature to keep your system safe

I too am sad to see the product being split, but before I worry about it too much, I'd be interested to see what Fengtao has to say along with the new cost structure.

As for the DEP I see Fengtao just mentioned that a fix is on its way.
Just to throw my 2 cents in, it has been happening to me too, with 5.0.1.0 beta, running on windows server 2008 64 bit.
same module dvdfabmobile.exe same DEP error.
I'll check here tomorrow and see if there is a new update.

True. Vista is a more safe system. But I don't use this computer for downloading stuff.

I running Vista and I’m also having the "Data Execution Prevention error", I attempted to correct the problem as StormJumper explained but that was a no go.
I will just wait till the non beta FabDVD 5 comes out, till then I just use the DVDFab 5 Beta 5.0.0.0 as that build worked fine for me.

I am sure they will address and fix most of the bugs by the 1st official Build.

After reviewing the properities of the DVDFAb files I see that DVDFab.exe has a digital signature but the other exe's don't. Could this be the reason wondows won't allow Report.exe or DVDFabMobile.exe to be added on the DEP list?

Just out of curiosity . . . anyone know what Report.exe does?

It appears to want to talk to a couple of sited (my firewall blocks it).

The only report.exe I know of is a key-logging program considered malware.

Just wondering.
