The mr bass guide was written in 2003.
Suspect it is an ancient predessessor of today's fab versions .

I did find this on Doom9, but it confuses things even more:

Quote:
DVDFab - formerly known as DVDToolbox (the name has been changed to avoid a naming conflict with existing tools) - is, according to the author, a tool supposed to be a free and 100% working copy of DVDXCopy. As you may know, DVDXCopy was the first commercial tool to split commercial DVD-9s to two DVD±Rs. It was initially pretty buggy but the company behind it eventually hired the author of IfoEdit to improve it - which has effectively killed of any further IfoEdit development. That, and the fact that the company is selling a package of freeware tools and a guide to create (S)VCDs has not earned them many friends so many people have avoided using DVDXCopy and were stuck with IfoEdit to do the same. While IfoEdit does the job just fine, it's a pretty complex operation. That's where DVDFab comes in handy. Its splitting facilities are extremely easy to use, though at the moment still not offering all the functionality DVDXCopy and IfoEdit can offer - but that is bound to change eventually.

No, you can't combine 2 split dvds into one with fab...at least with the present application. I guess it may be possible if you're willing to try to navigate a workaround.
You would need re-authoring software...such as shrink.

Hard to know what you mean by "related to" ?
mrbass.org provides a number of guides and utilities and is run by Alexa Web Information Service.
A few years back, I did hear that Fab development was related to the old 321 studio's dvdxcopy. Who knows what that means...
I'm no developer, that's for certain, but I suspect you could say all decrypting software is "related".

Re: Dual DVDFab's? Fengtao vs Mr.Bass

The old 321 studio's dvdxcopy per fengtao on the old dvdidle forurm was not related to his software (me remembering that long ago is scary). There were some asking this when DvdFab became DvdFab Gold and packaged with Express to create Platinum. I know the word Platinum was part of the DVDXCOPY line DVDXCOPY Platinum as I own a copy which is no what like Fab. I think there was a Silver Edition and a Gold Edition. 321 Studio's loss in legal proceedings was reason Luke made a deal to never reless the code for DVD Dcrypter or update it.

The old DVDFab Gold tutorial listed mrbass.org as an information resource but he has not kept up to to date and deals with DVDFab which fengtao does not update now. They may be an affiliate but the out of date information seems to say otherwise.
