Well, the first thing that occurs to me is that they shouldn't make promises that they aren't going to keep.

Yes, sometimes we make promises that it turns out we can't keep, but most people will say "sorry, I know that I promised, but...".

If the lifetimes of DVD Region+CSS Free, DVD Region+CSS Free Lite, DVDIdle, and DVDIdle Pro are actually over, then they should make a clear statement to that effect, list the upgrade options, and let the purchasers choose whether to upgrade to the replacement products, and stop waiting for the promised updates.

Or if their lifetimes aren't over, then they could state that again, and let the users choose to wait for the promised updates, or to upgrade (hopefully at a discounted price) to DVDFab Gold or Platinum.

If these products were updated and offered for sale again, perhaps they would be revenue-making products again.

The products in question weren't free of charge; I paid good money for DVDIdle Pro.

What people like James_50 and others, including myself, would like to have is just definition.

Define, in plain English words, what will happen to the DVDIdle products, products that were not free and in less than 3 years were phased out, by a company that did not vanished off the market but instead sells new ones. Define which options those old customers have to become existing customers again.

Or define when you might have a definition.

Until now all what we have gotten is, basically, silence. Beside one or two Fengtao's responses back in October 2006, the new managers at this company are just too busy to take care of those little things.
